Network card "fried" by lightning. New card is for a Windows 95 computer and son has a vista. Are the cards interchangable?
Check the cards next to one another. The older Win95 system may have used an ISA style board while the newer one is probably a PCI slot board. If the boards are the same length with the same notches....they should work. And Vista will probably have the device driver for the old NIC card.
