Question about Acer Aspire 5630 Notebook

1 Answer

Low space Hi guys, could anyone explain why I have an acer c drive and a c drive (d)? It seems my C drive has 12% free space but the C drive (d) has 98%. I am unable to defrag the c drive as it needs 15% free space and how can I use the c drive (d) as my system is telling me its full with no space for new software. Model is Acer Aspire 5504WXMi many thanks Ron Plews London

Re: low space

Have you tried clearing the "Temp" and the "Prefetch" folders?
Go to Start -> Run

Type - "temp" (without the quotes) in the run dialog and delete all files with Shift+Delete.
Repeat the same operation with the prefetch folder. (Type prefetch instead of temp now)

It should be able to clear just a few MBs.

Also, I would recommend uninstalling any unwanted software that you may have installed on your system.

Also, as it is evident from your above post, you have been saving a lot of stuff in the My Documents folder. I would hereby recommend saving large files on the C Drive(D) drive so a balance would be maintained.

I would get CCleaner. It's totally FREE and you can clean off a ton of junk files in a single click and it's super easy to use. You can get it here:

I have a 10.2" Windows 7 N455 with a 160gb drive

i understood your problem. You are suffering from Low disk space on C:/ drive.

And i think it also indicates about to "Low virtual memory" but as you specified in your problem that your C: Drive is Full. You should transfer "My documents" files to other drive to free some space. In short you must require 1GB - 2GBfree space in C: Drive.

if you not able to do so.then you have to format your TAB PC. then make the partition having C: Drive memory is more.

If you want to Make partition you should Do like this...C: 50GB D: 55GB E: 55GB

please give your ratings for support.

The simplest solution is to run Disk Cleanup as follows....
1. click start then hi-light All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click on Disk Cleanup
2. wait while Disk Cleanup calculates how much space you will be able to free on ACER (C:)
3. in the Disk Cleanup for ACER (C:) under Files to delete:
4. click to set the check-boxes of the groups of files you wish to delete
5. at bottom of the list is the Total amount of disk space you gain
6. click OK button and on Disk Cleanup for ACER (C:) pop-up, click the Yes button
7. redo the preceding, clicking on the More Options tab to free more disk space from other areas.

My 5633 acer keeps coming up low disk space on c how can I solve this

uninstall & delete any unused programs. Empty the recycle bin,run disk clean-up from system tools. Defragment the drive. If that doesn't help,I'd start looking into a new hard drive.

Why does my laptop show low disc space?

The low disc space message refers to the amount of free disc space on your c drive. The c drive is the drive on which your windows is installed, thus yu need to delete some games or not neccesary files to free up some space on your drive. Hope this can help you.

Kind regards

ACER 1360

Unless I am mistaken, the D drive or partition is the partition that contains the restore feature for yor laptop. This may or may not be hidden system files. As far as the available free space on your C drive, you WILL need to either delete files and/or backup and delete files. Image files, music files, cookies temp files take up a lot of disk space. Try this and I think you will find more free space. BPCS

C: Drive space issue

Hi Ginnydoll,

You need to used Hard Drive Partition which you can resize your available space by increasing drive C: capacity and decreasing available space in your drive d: capacity without deleting any files on it. And this is not a harmful to your hard drive all your important files are intact in each destination.

If my solutions sounds great please email me for further assistance. because it is really hard to demonstrate on this page because there is no features to attached pictures for visual instructions.

best regards,
