If you are trying to download the upgrade from the itunes program itself, it will sometimes disconnect.
You may want to just downlod the file itsetlf from this website:

I have iPod Nano 2Gb . If I play music each 10sec music stop and start new song. I can not arrive to eliminate this mistake.

This worked for me.

1. Locate the actual song file. You can check this in iTunes, use the 'Get info' command, in the summary tab, there's a 'where' item at the bottom. Mentally note that this is 'file#1'.

2. Once you've find the file, make a copy of this file in some other folder. Or maybe even on the desktop. Mentally note that this is 'file#2', which is a copy of 'file#1'. Do not rename.

3. Go to iTunes, and delete the problematic song. If iTunes ask to remove the file, click 'yes'. If iTunes doesn't ask, manually remove the file from the original folder. You are removing 'file#1'.

4. Once this is done, move back the copied file, ie 'file#2', to location where 'file#1' was.

5. Add the song back into iTunes. iTunes will treat it as a new song. You will lose some data like Rating or Play Count. You might need to add some details like track number and so on.

6. Sync your iPod. Done.

You have to do this steps to every problematic song. Tedious, yes. But it's better than the need to re-encode the files.

Two problems 1)My sansa clip shut down on its own and when I turned it back on all files were erased. When plugged into the computer the media player still showed 3/4 of the memory still used on the clip...

Its not usles, you can delete the files while on the computer. After having in plugged in you can access it like a flash drive. Then you can open the music folder and delete as you will. Depending on what kind of files you have on it, its possible that i wont recognize the format of the file. I think though from what you've said that it did work, and then stopped playing songs that worked before. So I don't know what to do about that. I don't use the normal way of loading songs onto my Sansa clip MP# player though. I just dump all of my songs via direct transfer into the music folder in the player itself

Won't turn on

Tetasonja40 , your problem may be the same as some of the other players. IF you don't have a license in the music you are copying the player loads it and it is visible but will not play and may even lock up the unit that it will blink on then when you hit play it shuts off or the light remains on but solid and will not play. Try removing the songs one at a time till the offending file releases the unit. I spent hours resovling this on other units. another problem that occurs is the players stop recognizing mp3 files for replay. converting them to a wma may resolve this problem.

Motorola ROKR z6m Media Player Not Functional

Okay, now this goes for if you can't see your pictures as well.

You need to make sure that there are not files for each song. Go onto the memory card and if there are folders for each song, move the songs onto the card 1 by 1 and delete the folders. It seems as though the folders are tricking the phone and making it shut down. The phone cannot process that many folders.

Once this is accomplished, you should be able to opperate like it should be.

Folders are created when you sink your media player to the phone, don't do this!

Move the songs over 1 by 1 to the music folder preinstalled on the memory card once formatted by the phone.

Power light is on but there is no display

Taking out the battery would do just as much harm as holding the power button down would. This could make you lose some memory or even corrupt important files. But if you have truly tried everything else (even holding the power button down until it shut off) and it still did not shut off then you would need to take the battery out to be able to try and fix it.
If possible, I would take it to a computer shop to avoid the possible corruption of your important files.

Certain songs on my iPod that I bought with iTunes just will not play when I upload them

Do they play ok in itunes?

Try resetting your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.
