Question about Texas Instruments TI-86 Calculator

TI 86 error 17 INVALID


  i keep gettinng the error 17 invalid when i try to graph.
 anybody has an idea what to do!?
ti 86 has a lot of errors
i would never buy them or sugget anyone to buy them ;)

If this doesn't do it, could you post the function you're trying to graph?

Go to http://education.ti.com/downloads/guidebooks/graphing/84p/TI84Plus_guidebook_EN.pdf to download the manual. On page 401, you will find the following:
INVALID DIM • The ERR:INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be corrected by turning off the stat plots. To turn the stat plots off, press y , and then select 4:PlotsOff. • You specified a list dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 999. • You specified a matrix dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 99. • You attempted to invert a matrix that is not square.

The graphing function on my ti-83 isn't working. i have reset all the parameters, but i keep getting an "invalid dim" error. ideas?


Hit 2nd then hit mem then scroll to all and click yes. This will master rester everything and restore it to factory settings.

Invalid dim shows up when graphing


Press ZOOM, then option 6 (ZStandard).
Let me know if that works.
