SOURCE: channnel keeps flicking like your changing channels with remote

when you say flickering??? are you saying the screen goes black and comes back on?? does the sound go out at the same time and comes bag on with the pic ? Is the sound there when this happens but is distorted. Is the pic blacked out or is it greying out with lines and twisting?? Need more info please as if its blacking out and the sound goes with it it may be going into shutdown. If the pic is getting kinda greyish with it twisting and the sound is there and ditorted then the tuner could be bad

SOURCE: My Sony FD Trinitron Model

Just as a leaky pipe requires a plumber, or a car that will not start requires a mechanic, a problem such as this requires a television technician. While some Sony sets of this era had early failure of the CRT, many have not and are quality sets with picture quality that is hard to match with LCD. A repair shop with the training, tools, and experience required will be able to repair this problem cost-effectively or at least explain why it is not cost effective (in those cases). Due to the great number of small parts that can cause a symptom such as this, hands-on evaluation is the only sure way to find out. A shop that charges a modest evaluation fee is the best recommendation here, as they can afford the time to be accurate.

SOURCE: Sony Trinitron Wega TV keeps shutting off and red

There are two Ic's that need replacing on the Deflection Board (D) board.. These regulate power for the High Voltage and Chopper PWM circuits. The IC location on the board are IC6501 and IC8002

Sony Wega trinitron TV wont turn on..Keeps shutting off and standby flashes 7 times

Thank you for your question.

Fortunately this is a common symptom and there is a fix for it.

There are two power supply IC's and a capacitor that need to be change. In particular IC6501, IC8002, part number, Mcz3001db, and C6556, 33uF @ 160V.

Realy chattering in Sony WEGA Trinitron

Hi, that is probly a capacitor in the power supply section near the relay, he failed to keep it charged
whit a good capacitor tester wizard you must be able to find and check for cracked soldering around it or directly on the relays
good luck and hope that will help you/
that is not an expensive repair;half or 1 hr time....

Sony Trinitron---Blinks 9 times, won't come on!

A specific model number will probably get you more specific
help.. but if you check around the internet by model number
you will likely be presented with some SERIOUS PART opportunities...

The FASHING LIGHT means you have a hard fault in the power circuits...

The number of flashes is mean to point you to a specific area...

I gave all my big flat screens away in favor of the new
HD stuff... (certainly less reliable than those Sony sers...

Shopjimmy might be a great place to call... but the MODEL NUMBER is a MUST.

My sony Trinitron KV-32S42 keeps blinking on and off

This can be a symptom of the picture tube starting to fail or a power supply problem. Can you please verify the model number and I'll then be able to give you a few options.

Thanks,
Dan
