You should have manual controls on the face of the unit to bypass the remote functions. If the current remote is failing, try a Universal Remote. The only way to get a complete answer is to read the manual that came with your device, or go on line to the Zenith Co. web site and seek support.

Stuck on progressive scan

This is a common issue with this brand of player. While the unit is on, and without any discs inserted, press and hold STOP button on the front panel (not the remote) for 10 seconds, then release. This should turn the progressive scan function off and revert the video output of the player back to normal interlace.

Zenith, Samsung, Magnavox, and Goldstar DVD players are notorious for progressive scan headaches, but it's easy to correct.

HOW DO I GET MY DVD OFF PROGRESSIVE SCAN

You do either of the following; refer to your instruction manual (if you still have it) and look for general output settings to turn off progressive scan, or you can try something much simpler.

On the front of the unit, without a disc inserted, and the drive selected as DVD, press and hold STOP button for 10 seconds (on the unit, not the remote), then release. This may revert progressive scan back to normal interlace for your TV, and thus turn progressive off.

This trick works for Goldstar, Samsung, some LG, Magnavox, and Zenith DVD players. Give it a try before referring to the manual.

It says in an orange background 'Pscan' what does this mean

It could mean that the player is in progressive scan mode - if you are not getting a picture from it, but sound, try turning progressive output off (without a disc inserted, press and hold STOP button on the front of the unit for 10 seconds - not the remote - then release. This should revert progressive output of the player back to normal interlace).

GO VIDEO DVD + VCR model: DV 1130 I want only the basic connection

Once the setting for Progressive Scan output is entered,
an image will only be visible on a Progressive Scan compatible
TV or monitor. If you set Progressive Scan to On in
error, you must reset the unit. Pointing the remote at the
player, press the STOP (x) button to stop any disc that is
playing. Next, press the STOP (x) button again and hold it
for five seconds before releasing it. The video output will
be restored to the standard setting, and a picture will once
again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.

How do you turn off the progressive scan

I own this model and do have the manual; however, standard AV and S-Video connections do not transfer progressive scan video images. If you hookup a progressive scan output to a non-progressive scan TV input, you will not get an image, so it is probably the way you have your machine connected to your TV that is the problem. If you are trying to watch regular TV through your machine, you will probably need to use a standard Coaxial Cable. I hope this helps.
