Question about HP Photosmart C5580 All-In-One InkJet Printer

On the display of the printer there is a message B3FFFB46. What does this mean. The printer will not power down compeltely. It comes back on with this error message.

On the display of the printer there is a message B3FFFB46. What does this mean? It will not completely power down when I turn it off. It comes back on immediately when I pusch the power button witht he above message.

Ink system has failed. Unable to copy. Refer to printer Documentation. Error 0xc18a0101


Reset the product:
1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

If this reset won't work ...open the front door ..and move the carriage to look for any paper left from a previous jam or so ...Make sure there is nothing blocking the ink carriage ..and than close the door and make the reset again ..

BY the way ...it may be a good idea to reinstall the software again too ..

A. - Press and hold the "*" key.
B. - Press the "#" key and release both keys.

C. - Press and release in sequence the "1", "2" and "3" buttons
Press and release the "OK" Button. Message changes to "Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue".
Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the "Ink System Failure" screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
Turn the unit on. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER" followed by "PRESS OK TO CONTINUE".
Press OK. The Printer will start the "ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS".

A "Fatal Error" does not mean your printer will "die". Fatal Error explanations are not usually found in the User's Guide or Handy Reference Guide.

RECOMMENDED NEXT STEP: First, try turning off your printer then turning it back on. If this does not clear the message or remedy the problem, check to see if your printer is on a power strip (or not plugged directly into the wall). Is the error message still being displayed on the printer?

This error message means" ink system failure " and to resolve this issue please follow these troubleshooting steps:

Unplug the printer and wait 30 seconds for power to discharge.
2. Plug in the printer.
3. Hold the CANCEL and OK buttons simultaneously, and keep them depressed while you hit the ON button. This resets the printer.
4. When the printer turns on, if you still get the error message, it's OK. Then perform the steps listed

After you perform the steps listed above, when you are at the step at the end where you are pressing the cancel button until you get to the WELCOME screen, if at some point you see a message, “Inproper shutdown, hit OK”, go ahead and hit OK and the Welcome screen should appear.
One thing that is nice about this method is that it doesn't use up all your ink doing a recalibration.
The error message should not pop up so try to print a self test Press Setup menu on the All-in-One then scroll using the arrow key and select Print Report then select Self Test Report.

This is only some thing you can try it may work.
Solution 1:

1. Press and hold "left arrow" key
2. Press the "setup" key and release both keys
3. Press and release the "OK" button
4. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”. 2. Press and release the “OK” button.
5. Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
6. Press and release the “OK” button.
7. Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
8. Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.

14. To verify printer functionality print a SELF TEST PAGE. If SELF TEST prints, then printer is ready for use or Software Installation.
15. If the error is still there, or reoccurs the printer is already defective.
Solution 2:

1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
4. Wait two minutes.
5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.

It can be pointing toward a firmware failure in the printer and if that is the case the following steps should fix it. Press and hold print photo's and the red eye removal buttons then press red eye removal then print photos then red eye removal again. Display should say ?Support? and display the FW rev (something like R0631R) Mine reads R0631M . Press and release the right arrow button until the display says ?System Configuration Menu?. Press and release the ?OK? button. Display should say ?Hardware failure status?. If not there already, Arrow Key over to ?Hardware failure status?, Press and release the ?OK? button. This can be a failure of the firmware which means the printer is in hardware failure status but it can sometimes be fixed. Follow these steps EXACTLY as written.

Press and hold the “*” key. Press the “#” key and release both keys.

T8008 printer with message says "replace fuser"


The 'Replace Fuser' message on the 8008 can be cleared in the following way;
• Power the printer Off
• Hold down FORM FEED and ENTER and power the printer on

Keep the FORM FEED and ENTER keys held down until the printer displays SERVICE MENU - INFORMATION

• Press the RIGHT ARROW to MAINTENANCE, and press ENTER
• The Display should read MAINTENANCE - CLEAR FUSER, if it does not press the right arrow until it does and then press MENU/ENTER
• The Display Should now Read CLEAR FUSER NOT EXECUTE, Press the right arrow until the display reads CLEAR FUSER EXECUTE
• Press ENTER, and after a pause the display should read COMPLETED CLEAR FUSER
• Power the printer off and after about 10-15 seconds power the printer back on again.

The message should now be cleared
