Question about HP Photosmart M425 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera turns on and right back off

When I turn my camera on, it comes on for a second and then turns right back off. I have put in new batteries and that did not help. It won't stay on.

Are you still using alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in today's digital camera. Some brands may have reached their shelf-life in the store, and may have problems just powering startup of the camera brand new and right out of the package.

Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. These days many retailers sell these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many, many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

Are you using Lithium batteries?

ALL Kodak cameras have huge problems with alkaline batteries, even brand new ones.

Hope this helps.

Samsung camera not turning on.

First make sure you batteries are strong.

Then this is not a great solution, but try this. 1) Remove the battery. 2) Hold down the power button and wait 30 seconds...but keep holding the button. 3) After 30 seconds and while holding the button down insert the batteries and then close the compartment. It should come on.

I managed to duplicate the problem by opening the battery compartment with the camera turn on and then if I put them back it would turn on and the lense does not retract.

Good Luck

Sounds like the same problem as with the samsung digimax 401... Internal memory. Insert a memory stick and hopefully the camera will come back to life,no?
