Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top rightof door opening. If it is not there you will need new doorswitch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and doesnot click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicksand clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuseis an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Door switch part number 3406100
Thermal fuse part number 3392519

I have a whirlpool dryer model #LER5636EQ3 which the power cord was missing upon aquiring it, the wall socket in my laundry room is a 50amp, so I need to know if a 50amp power cord would be a proper...

The recommended power cord is a 30 amp 3- or 4- wire cable. A 50 A cord could cause a problem by allowing a surge to the dryer motor and damage the dryer or start a fire. There are 30A to 50A adapters (see RV and boat supply vendors). The installation instructions for the LER5636EQ3 are available here: https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Installation%20Instructions%20-%203397618.pdf . See page 5 of the PDF.

Note: the 50A outlet has a 50A circuit breaker protecting it. If you swap the outlet to a 30A outlet, you will also need to replace the breaker with a 30A one.

I hope this helps.

I have Model # LER5636EQ3 dryer it all of a sudden quit working in the middle of a drying cycle. I Checked fuses in house all OK. Checked to see if other cycles worked will not start or make a sound at...

This problem is commonly caused by a blown thermal fuse located on the blower housing. The thermal fuse is wired in series with the motor and the motor activates a centrifugal switch for the heating element when it runs. These setup makes the dryer fail to start and the heating element not to turn on if the thermal fuse is blown. The dryer seems to no work at all. Verify the condition of the thermal fuse by bypassing it and starting the dryer.

Disconnect power then access and bypass the thermal fuse on the blower housing. The blower housing is located on the rear left bottom of the dryer cabinet. Remove the rear panel to access the blower housing and so the thermal fuse.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced along with the cycling thermostat if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards.

The thermal fuse and cycling thermostat are part numbers 3392519 and 3387134, respectively.

Whirlpool Dryer LER5636EQ3 will not heat replaced heating element, jumped out all temp and heat fuses.

Betya missed the thermal cutoff. Located half way up heater canister above the t-stat. This is usually the cause.
