Put the foam media in the base 1st. Pull to two cleaning handles on the lid up all the way before you put it on the base. Place the lid on the base then push it down carefully, alternating from side to side until it is all the way down all the way around. Then you can put on the locking ring.

replace lid switch

where yout timer asymbley and controls are a screw in the bottom left and right corner remove and flip timer assymbley back towards wall in dead center of cabinet there is a quick disconnet for the cord disconnect the complete following steps..

there should be another quick disconect usually sitting horisontal that usual for your lid switch remove and jump across the two outside wires reconnect power and put washer on drain and spin if it starts to spin this means the switch connected to this connector is bad called a lid switch which controls the washer not to spin if the washer lid was left open this is a safety mechanism and must be replace with a new switch i donnot reccomend leaving this switch jumped out even though you could do laundry untill your part comes in.....

Tip

How to change lid switch in a Whirlpool top load washer.

Tools needed: Phillips screwdrive, flathead screwdriver, putty knife, 3/8 inch nut driver.

Every model is different. So read though. While standing in front of washer there is a phillips screw on each side of console. Some models have a screw on each side but in back of console. Some models dont have screw so you will need a putty knife to slide under console on each side an push the clips inward and lift up on console. Once you have removed the screws or the clips lift the console and allow to flip upside down and the support hindges on the back of washer. Disconnect the quick connect the clips into another quick connect Brcketed on the frame. Remove the two gold curved shaped hinges one one each side with the flathead screwdriver.Tilt cabinet back and move it away from the washer. Unerneather you will see a quick connect with wires running to the lid switch. Remove the two phillips screws that are under the lid holding the lid switch in place. Remove the 3/8 inch nut holding the ground wire next to lid switch. There are also two hindges the hold the wires inside the lip of the frame. Pull hinges towards you enough to allow the wires to come out. Install new lid switch with the two phillips screws from the old one. Reconnect the 3/8 inch grounding wire to frame. Insert the wires back inbetween the hindges to hold wires. Snap the quick connect into the frame from underneathe. It can only go on one way. Once you have the new lid swtch installed than go back in front of washer. Place the cabinet back in place. Push the lower lip of the bottominside of cabinet back under lip of frame of washer. Gently tilt the cabinet back into place. Take your hand and make sure the glide (white plastic strips ) on the back frame line up and than put the gold hinges back in place. Than do the other side. Make sure its stable. Reconnect the lid switch quick connect. Place console back into place and make sure its snug. Put screws back in place. Now standing in front of washer. Tilt washer towards you to reset the self leveling legs. Now lift the lid and start your washer in spin cycle. Close the lid and open it until the basket returns to normal stopping mode. Keep doing this it usually takes 5-10 times increase speed of basket each time ( have lid closed longer for faster speeds). When the basket breaks are reset you will hear the breaks engage and the basket slowly comes to a stop. If you see it jerking or breaking hard The break package is not reset yet keep trying to reset. Once the break package is reset and the lid switch works good than its laundry time.

Future knowledge: Lid switches go out for a few different reasons. If you drop the lid and it hits the lid switch hard it can start damaging it. Wear and tear using your washer will wear them out over time. Most common is the dropping of the lid which breaks lid switch over time. Thank you for taking your time to reason this How To and I hope this helped you in your task.

How do you take the top lid off of kitchenaid washing machine model # KAWS777EQUO and replace lid switch?

There are two clamps under the control console. About 1 inch from the edge on both sides. Use a putty knife and slide under to be able to lift console up and tilt back. UNPLUG washer and you will see 1 gold clamp on each side and use a screw driver and pop them out. You will also see a little white quick connect unplug it and til your entire cabinet forward. You can take the entire cabinet off and access the lid switch. When you put the cabinet back on make sure the sides align and u dont crimp the clear hose where the cabinet indents in. Make sure to reconnect your lid switch and put gold clamps back.

Sprayer is not working, but leaks water

I think you have two problems. The leaking is old seals on either the containers, or on the other end (the machine). Try replacing them. There are various part websites for these.
The problem with the spraying could be the belt that turns the pump. Check it. If it's there its probably not it. The next thing could be the little plastic tubes that go to all the componets inside the machine tend to accumulate buildup. Make sure they are all flowing free. Next try the heating element (its inside the handle area) take it apart and clean it. If all those things are checked and it still doesnt work, it might be what was wrong with mine. The all on one container that holds fresh water and dirty water has a leak. I found mine would spray correctly if i had the lid off the container, and as soon as i would put the lid back on it would stop spraying. I found out that The suction going through the container to **** the dirty water in was also putting a suction on the clean water bladder which caused the water to stop flowing out of the clean water bladder. I ended up getting an all new container with bladder because i could not get anything to seal right due to its age and warpage of the plastic. So to determine if yours is the same issue. Just take the lid off the container and then try to spray water. It may take 10 seconds to get all the tubes primed again because the suction will actually **** all the water back up to the container. If you dont want to replace the container, just spray a few passes with the lid off, then put the lid back on to **** the water back up. Hope this helps. I might not write clearly for everyone to understand, but i hope it helps someone.

ITouchless trash can won't close all the way anymore

When the lid is open notice a metal pin that slides thru the lid to the body of the can. With needle nose pliers, pull out pin to the right and remove lid. Now push the manual open button and quickly turn of power button. Now put the lid back on and slide pin back in. Now turn power button back on and see if this corrected your problem.

Display gives message;Top is open,but it's closed.

Your lid sensor maybe broken.
to check open the printer like you would when you put new ink in and you will see a white sticking down from the lid on the right side. what that does is depresses a switch which tells the printer if the lid is closed or open. if you put your hand under the tab and feel in the hole if the you feel a tab there and it moves and then springs back in position then it is ok but if it is not there or doesn't spring back then the printer is shot.
also call lexmark if it is there but keeps coming up saying lid is open, and they will walk you through some quick fixes that may or may not fix it.
