Hi, if i am correct in assumimg your tom tom is a "one", mine is but the v3 europe version and i had a similair problem when i added an sd card, the device is telling you to switch off and remove the sd card, the cure is to make a back up of all your devices software on your computer, then add your new map onto the back up file, then copy the whole lot onto your sd card, re-insert into the device and switch on making sure that if a secure sd card that the lock switch on it is locked. your device should then work, the reason for all this is because the "one" is the only tom tom that cannot use an sd card as extra storage, therefore it either must only use the devices own memory, which is very limited, or everything (including the devices operating software) from the sd card, it cannot run both, and will only try sd card if inserted, you must remove it for the device to operate from its own memory. If this fails, i would check the new maps compatability with your model tom tom. hope this helps ! good luck, bikerandy

I saved the map on to my computer from the tom tom in Tom Tom Home and installed it on to a new SD card and now it working perfectly. I bought a 2mb SD card for £6.70 put it into a card reader and connected to computer and installed map and it gave me the instructions to put into device (Tom Tom) and switch on to connect then off and back into card reader to finish. Then I disconnected device which is important to do by the way put the new Sd card into Tom Tom and it is workink perfectly. I hope this help others who have problems.

Take special not of part 6

1. Remove the SD card
The card needs to be formatted properly first that's all,

2. formatting is better done in a card reader.

3. Right click on it and select format select FAT32 as the files system

4. Now connect the tomtom but don't let tomtom home run. exit TTH if need be.

5. You now ned to select your tom tom which will also show as a drive.

6. In windows explorer select tools then folder options. Click view and tick the box for "show hidden files and folders"
It may warn you but you can ignore it.

7. Then just copy ALL the files from the tom tom to your sd card

8. DO NOT USE CUT AND PASTE !

9. Once all the files are on switch off the tom tom and insert the sd card

It should now work

When I turn on there is only a cross over the SD card.

This problem is due to the memory card not containing the TomTom application or map. To update the application onto the memory card, Connect the device to your computer. Open the TomTom Home application. Click on 'Update My Device'. This should then install the application onto the SD card. Alternativly, you could perform all the steps above without the SD card in the device, this will install the application onto the internal memory. Note: you may also need to install your maps, voices, etc after you updat.

My tom tom go910 will not activate? It will only show a piture of

The red cross means its been wiped usually. Connect it to your pc and go to my computer. Click on the tom tom logo and see what is on your device. The maps should be there in yellow folders. Copy and paste these in to a folder. Then reformat the device by right clicking on the logo and selecting fat 32. When done reset the device for 30 sec and connect back to your pc and install the latest version of tom tom home. You can then get all the fee updates, thhen go to add maps where you can put your maps back on from the folder you made

Memory card does not work

Is this a new unit? How long have you had it?

I had one for 6 months and had to return it to the store because it stopped locking onto satellites. It sounds like the hardware fault. Did you try the reset button? It returns it to its default factory settings.

Regards,

Spare head 2.

Tom tom one

This would suggest the card may be faulty. If you have a backup of the info on the card, try formatting the card and restoring the data.
