Download spybot search and destroy from Spybot - Search & Destroy - Free software downloads and run a full computer scan. This is effective against viruses and malaware.

Then download AVG Free - Download AVG Anti-Virus,
install it, update it and do a full virus scan.

If that is not enough to get rid of viruses, or if the system had been damaged, you may need to re-install the system.

Hi,

If you want to clean up your pc of viruses, Trend Micro's free online virus scanner 'Housecall' is a good way to do it.

If you want to find the serial number of your Windows installation so you can reinstall, download the 'Magic Jellybean Keyfinder' - it works well.

IF THE VIROUS IN WINDOW XP THEN HOW WILL TO SOLV OF THIS PROBLEM

there are many ways one could solve this

  1. use an online scanner to cleanup infections
  2. use another machine to clean infections
  3. use utilites(such as Anti-Virus and other Cleanup tools) to clear up infections
  4. format hard drive and start from scratch
the last options is usually always the best providing you don't mind losing all your data

the steps I personally use
  1. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to do initial clean
  2. Trendmicros houscall to do secondary scan (providing you are connected to the internet)
  3. final Anti-Virus of your choice
if things do loopy after the clean option 4 of the intitial suggestions may be un-avoidable

My laptop is infected will changing the motherboard fix problem

Don't need to change the motherboard to remove a virus infection. In fact, this won't solve your problem. The virus is on the hard disc drive.

If it is a bad virus that won't let you do anything on the computer, follow the instructions on this link. If you can install programs on your computer, follow only steps 7 and 8 from the above link.

My System is affected by virus.when i format the total hard drive still it can run within some days.how 2 remove this virus manually or help 2 format the drive using any bootable software...plz...

I suggest booting from a bootable cdrom disk, instead of a floppy disk, USB drive, etc. Everything except the cdrom can quite easily become infected with a virus just by plugging it into the computer. You MUST create the bootable cdrom from a KNOWN clean computer! If you try to create one from the infected system, you can almost be assured you will only create an infected cdrom!

If you don't have a way of creating a bootable cdrom, try booting your system from your Windows installation cd / dvd. Do a complete format before the install and then SHUT DOWN the computer! Do NOT just reboot and continue with the installation of the OS. Viruses are "memory resident" in that they load themselves up into RAM when the computer boots and will remain there until the machine does a complete shut down. I recommend you shutdown (i.e., turn off the computer) and restart the machine a couple of times AFTER doing the format to be assured that the virus is eradicated.

Once you are satisfied the virus no longer exists, you can go ahead with a new install of the OS. The FIRST thing to do before loading ANY of your personal files back onto the computer is to install a virus scanning software -- and make sure it is active and the virus pattern files are current. After scanning the hard drive for problems and finding none, can you go ahead with the installation / restore of your personal files.

Chances are pretty good that the reason the computer runs OK for a couple of days and then the virus reappears is that a file you have installed or copied over from your backup is infected. Each time you launch the program / file, the virus gets installed and the cycle starts again.

uTorrent or file sharing software do put you more at risk of virus infection due to their unrestricted nature. Personally I've come to the opinion that no matter how careful you are about what you download its not worth the risk.

Other sources of infection do of course exist, hijacked web pages and virus infected emails are common vectors. Tracking down the exact source of infection after the event can be difficult.
