Search for the driver by filling in the make & model no from the manufacturer of the sound device. Also depends on the OS you are using. However it says external sound system so you should be able to make work by using a chord with one end like the headphone jack which should go into the speaker-out(generally green) at the back of the CPU and plug the other end with compatible jacks into the amplifier....sodeep

After i update windows vista the sound does not work

You need to get the drivers for your computer. Go to Google and search "(motherboard name/sound card name) Drivers for Windows Vista". Most drivers are on the manufacturer's website and can be easily found. If you have no idea about what I just described, then post another question with more detailed information about your machine and we will help you as best as possible!

Hi dugdale_jerr
You don't need drivers or software for these speakers but well a 5.1 souncard . So , you have to download the driver for this card . Go to the Device manager and see what it says about the " video sound and games controller " . If you can't identify the sound card , download Driver Genius from and let it scan and identify your device . Once done , you can google it and find the manufacturer to download the driver .
Best regards .

No sound since installing xp

Unfortunately your best bet on your Inspriron 531s is to go back to Vista. According to Dell, this system was specifically setup to run Vista and, therefore, no XP drivers are guaranteed to work on this model. Most of the time for onboard devices, if they are not listed on the site, they are usually native to the operating system and do not require a driver download. Dell does, however, have some XP drivers for this model listed on their support site here

The only audio driver listed is for a Creative Labs X-Fi sound card and I am not sure that is what you have. Your best bet is to uninstall your sound card drivers, reboot, then install these. Good Luck

Accidently deleted something now I have no sound

U may try to restore, if not the extreme is to uninstall sound card and reinstall in the system - control panel. U may need to supply the drivers.
Though, from the system-control panel- update driver may cause it to search and find the driver.
