First turn auto-update disabled for the OS. Also microsoft products like Windows media player, etc. Even MS Office must be a pirated copy so do the same settings there too. Also do not update IE, results are nearly same. Try to install WinXP Pro_ServicePack-3. Else download the full OS updated with security fixes and patches released till Dec, 2008 from uTorrent P2P share....sodeep

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You may be a victim of software counterfeiting i installed windows XP and a meesage appears says this copy did not pass geniune windows validation

This is because you have used the pirated version of the windows XP and while installng the XP u have have opted for the updates enable. If you have have disabled the updates then it will not happen.

Y9ou may be a victim of software counteriting. This copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation.

This means that your license copy is pirated. If recently purchased and installed you should report it back to vendor or if this one is just a new message after Operating system being in use from last few days then you should report it to Microsoft support ( if licensed copy ). Follow the link to check for Genuine Validation

I can't end wgatray.exe by task manager nor delete it by using shift+delete havig said I 've already opened C:windowssystem32wgatray.exe.

wgatray.exe runs in the background to validate your Genuine Windows XP software against a list of serial numbers that are blacklisted by Microsoft.

If your system is running pirated XP, the wgatray process will show a pop-up warning - "This copy of Windows XP is not genuine" - this is no error or virus, its a reminder from Microsoft to go original.

Though you can temporarily disable Windows Genuine Advantage notifications by removing wgatray.exe or wgalogon, this is never recommended since you will not be able to download important security updates and patches from Microsoft Updates website.

If you are running a counterfeit or illegal version of Windows XP, rather than hunting for a wga workaround, just get the authentic GGK kit from Microsoft to convert your pirated XP into Genuine software by changing the XP product key - completely legit way to make Windows genuine and you need not reinstall your Windows XP.

The WGA patch is installed if the user has opted to automatically update Windows via the Windows Update Website or if a XP users manually downloads the latest Windows updates.

I install the game that is pirated that can t work

I am sorry but Fixya offers no help with pirated software. We cannot, thus help you with your pirated game.
Please consider buying it from the retailer. You get free support and more functions when you purchase a legitimate copy.
I hope you understand.
Thank you.

I have a pirated Windows Xp installed in my pc but when I installed an OEM w/ key Winsdows Xp Pro, my computer can complete set up because a command prompt alwyas shows that theres no hardisk & windows...

Okay, first things first- Pirated versions of software simply ain't cool, for any number of reasons (first being that using pirated software is ILLEGAL!), but in addition, most pirated garbage has all kinds of extra junk with it, like trojans, viruses, keyloggers, etc. which may be preventing you from installing a proper OS.
If you know what kind of harddrive you have, go to the manufacturers' site and get yourself their version of disk management software (usually a self-extracting .exe file that'll write to a 3.5 floppy). Make sure you get the version applicable to your particular drive. Make the floppy, and restart your computer with the floppy in your a drive, and follow the prompts to reformat the drive (bear in mind that you're going to lose everything on the drive). Remove the floppy and shut down your computer.
Next, restart your computer and get into the bios settings, and set your boot order to read your optical drive (CD or DVD-Rom) first, save settings, put your OEM disk in the drive, and restart- You SHOULD be good to go.
Another note: If your OEM disk isn't from the manufacturer of your computer, you'll still have issues, as OEM versions are coded for particular board/hardware combinations.
Bottom line- Computer systems are becoming more and more affordable, and using pirated software only leads you down a path to problems. Reformat your harddrive and open your wallet enough to get a legitimate copy of the software you want!
