That is clear indication that you have a bad graphics card. Try to look for a pencil eraser and use it to clean the gold pins on your graphics card. I hope this helps. If your card still doesn't work, its probably defective.

My problem is that my computer screen just won't turn on! I can hear the fan running so how do I fix it?

Turn off your computer first.
if the power led indicator of your monitor is blinking then your monitor is not dead or damage, you just need to clean the video card of your computer, open your computer then clean the gold plated sockets if you are using a video card. but if you are using the built in video input then clean the memory of the computer. return the parts back to its proper place then try turning your computer On again.

Good Luck, Don't forget to vote for my rating, thanks

I have acer aspire series computer for 2 years.one day when i open my computer my monitor display no signal what are the reasons

Hi! it means that the monitor is not picking any signal from the tower or computer.Check all physical cables first esp the video cable from the monitor to the tower.Check if the computer has power by checking lights, sound coming of the machine. Check if monitor cable is securely plugged in to the vga or hdmi port.If you are using a adapter for that cable try to directly plugin the cable without using the adapter. If still no signal, check if you have a external video card or internal.if you have a external video card and thats the one that youre using then remove the external video card(you need to open up the tower and physically remove the external video card) and connect the video cable to the onboard card then check if will get a signal.hope this helps...

Old monitor wont switch on

hi friend,
First, try connecting your monitor to a known good PC, possibly the old laptop you are using now. If the monitor works, the problem is with the video card in your PC. If the monitor does not come on, it is the monitor. It is usually cheaper to purchase a new monitor than to have an old one repaired, unless the monitor is still under warranty.

Try plugging a known good monitor to your PC. If the monitor works, your old monitor is fried and needs to be replaced.

If Your monitor works when connected to another PC, the problem could be your video card. First, then you turn on your PC, do the power supply and case cooling fans run. If they don't, it could be the power supply.

Next, open the computer case. Before you do anything inside, unplug the power.

IMPORTANT!! Touch any metal portion of the computer case to ground yourself to the PC. The slightest static spark can destroy computer circuits.

If the video card is the card type that plugs into a slot on the motherboard, remove the retaining screw or fastener at the top of the card, carefully remove the card, handling the card by the edges as to not disturb the circuits on the card, and re-install the card. Sometimes simply re seating the card corrects the problem.

If that doesn't work, replace the video card with a similar type card. Maybe now is a good time for a video card upgrade.

If the video card is integrated into the motherboard, you can only install a new card into one of the PCI slots on the motherboard. When the PC boots for the first time, go into bios and disable the on board video card. hope this helps u

thank u for using fixya

My monitor says there is no signal from my new Dell Studio

Try reseating the video card in your new computer. Sounds like it may not be seating in the slot properly. Take it out and put it back in with the power off and then hook everything back up and then see if you get video,.

LOST PICTURE ON FLAT SCREEN

If you buy new PCI video card there is alway CD software attached on this, you should claim for this because it was the driver for your new video card ,without it your PC will have an abrormal operation .Are you sure it was your video card?you can consider also your memory card,Wiht out hardisk,CD room, floopy your computer will run it can open your monitor configuring the cmos and bios.Try on this one disconnect hardisk,cd room, floopy then detouched your memory card clean using pencil eraser the sloted terminal of your memory card, also your video card try to clean terminal by pencil eraser. Then put back memory and video card again if the monitor work.If ok put back again the cdroom, hardisk, and floopy. If not ok Isolate checking the memory and video card also the processor.

No video display

If the video card is built into the motherboard then try starting in safe mode and reinstalling the drivers from scratch. Download the latest drivers from the dell website. Safe mode will reduce the resolution and use a generic VGA driver. If your video card is plugged into a PCI slot try unplugging the video card and using a different slot and going through the same process. If you are still not getting any output to your monitor and you are positive the monitor is fine then you may need a new video card. To be sure, if the video card isn't embedded to the mother board, you could take it out and try it in a different computer. Hope that helps.

What ya need to do is isolate your problem.. you need to see if your monitor is faulty OR ya PC.. OR both? ... So, test your Monitor on another PC... see if it works OK... Try another Monitor on your PC and see if it works... I think it is possible ya may find that it is your Monitor that is faulty and NOT ya PC itself.. but by doing what I described you at least will be able to isolate where your problem(s)? are. Which will dictate the steps that must be undertaken from that point to effect repair.
