Your laptop has Tv Tuner card and if it takes TV input via cable , you get a S-Video / DVD cable to regular cable converter and use the laptop as a video recorder - if you are in US , any Radio Shack will be able to help you with the cables

Most security DVR's come with software that control the cameras. Most DVR's use BNC type connectors and unless you buy a wireless system, you will have to run cables for them.

How do I connect my panasonic vhs 188 camcorder to a dvd recorder?

Hi,

On these old models of VHS camcorder, I recall they have either RCA outputs, or BNC connectors which will require a BNC adaptor (to convert to RCA).

Using a 3RCA lead, connect the camcorder to the video (and audio) inputs of your DVD recorder.

I have the panasonic HD 5100 HS camera with no cables. Only the camera, lense, and plugin unit is included. When i plug it in, it lights up but that is all. How can I determine the condition of this. Can I...

I have 4 5100HS cameras that I use with my switcher. For about $100 bill, I purchased an analog to digital converter. From the switcher BNC cable out to RCA inputs on the converter. Converter output is a 1394 going into the laptop. I record straight to the harddrive.
You can run a single BNC to RCA cable to the converter and watch it with about a 1/2 second to 1 second delay on your system.

I have a dvd/vcr that does not have a coaxial cable hookup on back of vcr. I need to have my satellite hooked up

If your VCR does not have the coax connection then you should either have RCA inputs and outputs or the BNC type of connections. If you have the RCA style then you can connect your sattelite receiver using them. If you have the BNC type then you may have to contact the manufacturer to see if there are converters available to switch your RCA ends to BNC. You will also have to find out if the BNC connections will even work with the outputs from the satellite receiver.

Connecting and recording camera with s video output on 1221 tx

Hi,

The cam setup you're trying in your surgery is similar to the type I often setup in Dental operatories for there intra-oral cameras.

You need an tuner, if your external has S-Video port, you can simply plug into it and use windows media center or the cards software(if it came seperate) to record from the s-video feed.

Then you can hook the S-Video output from the laptop to the TV monitor in question and run the laptop in mirrored mode to show the same image on both screens.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Connections, security camara/vcr/tv

A VCR uses a "RF" signal, where a TV uses a broadcast signal. The standard TV will not record from a security VCR. However, if the TV has a yellow "video in" jack on the back, this will work to record the VCR. You might need to buy a BNC to RCA adaptor at radio shack. Let me know if this does not work.

Recording from other sources

The tape outputs is what you need to use. If there is not output on those tape outs, you have a preamp problem I'm afraid. I have seen these go out in the past when someone hooks up an output to the tape outputs and blows out the preamp IC. Good Luck
