I have a Samsung 710N LCD and I cannot get a picture on it, comes up with a box saying that it wants to run in optimal resolution of 1280 x 1024 but when you change the computer to that resolution then it still does not display a picture from the computer, has anyone experienced this fault with this monitor and can you help or suggest a fix or what the problem could be? Thanks and best regards! Michael

-   jay_klein solution was helpful (y) "Add a 50 ohm between pin 5 and 6 of the NT68F63LG IC."

-   my 710n does not come on after restart. it shows a dialog box about resolution/frequency. it works if i leave it for a while (power switched off). i believe this to be a known issue and samsung will replace if under warranty.

-   Everything is OK until the PC enters the screen saving mode. When the PC comes out of the screen saving mode the 710N displays a message about not getting the optimal resolution, though the video is the same 1280x1024/60Hz as before. After that, when re-booting the PC the monitor displays the BIOS screen and the first XP boot screen OK. Then it goes blank and displays the same message about not getting the optimal resolution, MENU key not working. Powering it OFF and ON shortly does not help. It behaves OK again only if left unpowered for more than 10 minutes.

I just did the 50ohm resistor deal on a 710N I found next to a dumpster. I actually put 47ohm radio shack resistor between J5 and J6 on the NT68F63LG chip. Worked like a charm! Thanks!!

Hello my problem is no picture on Samsung 710N only when I press menu is shows "test good"and when I disconnect cable it shows "connect cable" but when I do no picture , is this a setting problem in the computer , if yes what has the settings to be?
I have a Syncmaster 710N which also constantly displays the "non optimum mode 1280 x 1024" msg. I have tried to connect the monitor to a system that had this display setting determined - no go. I then hooked up another system with a separate graphics card (the previous one had onboard graphics) with the same result. I have also referred to the troubleshooting guide in the manual -again a no go. Yet the LCD shows the pre-test screen OK but then returns to the infamous "non- optimum...." msg. I read somewhere that if the LCD displays this message continuously then a PCB will need to be replaced in the monitor. I was looking for some kind of reset button somewhere and have almost reached the point of throwing the "piece of ****" in the bin only to keep reminding myself that there must be a quick fix for this. I did have a glimmer of hope when I unplugged and replugged the monitor in and the display momentarily came up only to revert to black in a few seconds. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
My SAMSUNG 715v 17" LCD Monitor will only display 1280 x 1024 VIDEO RESOLUTION RECOMMENDED. even if i tried using another monitor just to adjust the desired resolution, after installing the SAMSUNG 715v, still it won't work. Before this problem goes on steady like this, it has been occurring intermittent in such a manner that it will display normally a couple of minutes then suddenly it will BLANK out and display the 1280 X 1024 VIDEO RESOLUTION..... msg. Now it totally won't display normally - just the Video Resolution msg. Is their any solution to this problem?
