Hi,

Sounds like the drive may have been formated/reformated the wrong size.

This can be troublesome to repair but there are some consumate pros around who can help you.

Try, Armor-IT Data Recovery, you can search them in our database or on google and they will be happy to help get your files back.

How to save videos to sd card to computer

Hi there,

Have a nice day. My name is adieh.

Using your Samsung galaxy phone you can follow these simple instructions:
1. Attach your digital phone to your PC using a USB cable.
2.Check if your computer recognizes the phone as a memory device by clicking on "My Computer" on you PC. See if it has been assigned a drive letter. This will give you access to the memory on your micro SD card.
3.Drag and drop data to the memory card by clicking on the data and moving it to the drive letter assigned to your phone. You can also right-click on anything you want to save. Click on "Save As" and save the file to the drive.
4.Access the data on your memory card using the "Tools" menu on the phone.

Another option is that if you are using a microd sd card reader. You can follow these steps:

1.Purchase a micro SD card adapter, which will allow you to insert the smaller card into SD card readers and computers. Many of the newer phones come with the adapter.

2. Insert the micro SD card and adapter into the card reader. Make sure your computer recognizes by accessing "My Computer" on your PC and clicking on the drive letter associated with your card reader.

3.Drag and drop videos or other data to the drive containing the micro SD card. Or right-click on anything you want to save, and then click on "Save As." Save the file to the correct drive.

4.Pop the memory card into your digital phone. Access it using the "Tools" menu on the phone.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using fixya.

Fat alloc error

> FAT ALLOC ERROR

FAT == File Allocation Table (like a 'Table of Contents' in a printed book)

ALLOC == Allocation

ERROR == ERROR

Some of the contents of that 'Table of Contents' are invalid.

So, copy all the files from the Memory Card onto your computer, to save a copy of those files.

Burn a CD/DVD disk with a copy of those files.

Then, "reformat" the Memory Card, to write a "new" and "empty" 'Table of Contents' onto the device.
Then, copy all the files back onto the Memory Card.

My notebook SONY VAIO VGN-AR690U with Dual Hitachi RAID Hard Drives (the model is HTS 5411616J90SA00) stops working and Intel Matrix Storage Console reports that the RAID HDD failed. After restart my...

First, CHKDSK usually does not do a "full" test of your disk-drive.
It does read the "Table-Of-Contents", and it does "itemize" each file on the disk-drive, looking for files in the T.O.C. but *NOT* on the disk, and looking for files *NOT* listed in the T.O.C., and looking to ensure that each "block" on the disk is allocated to "free" space or is allocated to EXACTLY one file.

It's possible that one of the two disks is "dying", and it's the 'RAID' structure that is providing some data from the "other" disk in the set.

I just plugged it in and can't figure out how to save files on it. Please help.

1. check to see if the drive shows in the "my computer" window as a new drive letter or USB drive. If it does then....
2. Click and drag the data to that drive or in the "files" drop down menu click on "save as" then locate the drive in the save as drop down and save your data to that drive.
You will have to have 2 widows up to do so.

Hello Maramark,

I guess you we're disconnected to our chat. Anyway, here is the link to the FREE data recovery software.
http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download/standard

It is totally free; I have tested this just now and was able to restore my files in seconds! Download and install it. After the files were scanned, select of them and click Restore button. You can choose which drive you want to save them, and yes, you can choose drive C.

Good luck!.

File Allocation Table corrupted

I got rid of the problem on my own, please read below how I solved it.
Basically, the partition of hard drive was still there but with corrupted data about its files indexes. With a free HDD rescue tool I was able to identify the partition and fix the problems regarding its corrupted indexes (file allocation table and toc).
After fixing the problem, the device became fully working and there's no data loss.

How to transfer data/file to UBS devise

If the USB device is a hard drive or flash drive (a.k.a. thumb drive), when you plug it in you should see its light flash, and Windows should assign it a drive letter. If you open up My Computer, you will probably see the additional drive letter in the list. You should be able to save files to the drive's letter, or drag and drop files onto the drive letter, and the files will transfer to the device.
