Hi Shadow5599

Thanks for your reply , the siren sound comes from within the computer case, I am thinking the machine was fairly dirty inside with lint and dust , however the system was monitored by Asus  software for tempature , which the cpu temp never exceeded 40c..what do you think .....best regards Keith

There are alot of problems lately with capacitors that become leaky and/or bulging indicating a failure of those components. Visually inspect the electrolytic capacitors they look like cans with a plastic skin) on the motherboard and power supply for signs of brown crusty stuff on the top or the tops bulging outwards. If there are some, your motherboard and/or power supply needs to be replaced or repaired by a tech.

You checked the power supply....by substituting a known good one or? If not, you should try that.
Where is the siren sound originating from exactly?

Further troubleshooting will require more info from you such as operating system and other hardware details. Getting to the bottom of problems can be an ongoing back and forth process.

Check temperature of your pc, if it goes then use proper system fan and also clean your system from dusting.

have you tried a different monitor? A different slot on your motherboard for the video driver? If you look at the motherboard manual, you will find a jumper that will reset your CMOS. However ,I doubtful this will solve it. Do you get a beep at first when you power on the computer?

Power shutting down

check your power-save settings they could be turning the computer off. it could also be a bad chipset that is getting shorted or a bad fan that is causing the pc to overheat and turn off. hope this helps.

By this, it appears you suspect your cpu is overheating.
If the computer hangs or crashes resets itself.
then it should,nt be an issue.
If you are concerned, you could check the fan is working correctly. ( these tend to get clogged with dust )
Secondly, you could remove the CPU Heatsink. And check The Thermal-tape Or Compound. Use A good quality thermal paste such as arctic Silver.
Hope This Helps.
