Compaq Laptop Network Adapter

Hi,
Just to make sure im understanding the situation properly - you have a laptop and connect to the internet through a wireless network right? And then when you go to open up internet explorer or whatever program you use it basically says you're not connected to the internet.

It does sound like your wireless card has gone bad but when you say that it still has the icon down the bottom of the screen telling you that you're connected to the network, it sounds like it could be something else. It could be a range of things from there though, there are some viruses that corrupt something called the LSP and when that is broken it has the same symptoms as you described. Also it could just be a setting in your anti-virus. I know that Kaspersky Internet Security suite has a problem with its anti-hacker function that blocks internet from working like that.

Try disabling all of your anti-virus / firewall programs and then accessing the internet. If that works then its only a small problem. If it doesnt work and the icon is still there saying you are connected to the wireless then there is a small program to try running called LSP Fix, available at:

Other than that i'm out of ideas. Changing the wireless network card in a laptop does sound challenging though.

I bought a new compaq laptop and tried to connect Internet, but unfortunately ,network adapter card is not working, that it says:"your wireless network Adapter is not installed On your computer".
and when i try to Configure the System with CD which Comes With the System, there is no such tools.
what Should I do?
