No radio/one volume setting only (by 2 users)

The radio on my RS1290B unit is not working at all when that function is pressed. The CD and tape cassette are working fine but at only one level--VERY LOUD! The volume control is not working at all. The unit has not been dropped or mishandled in any way so I can't imagine what the problem could be. Thanks.

Radio will not work, however CD & tape system works fine.
