My Maytag Self cleaning range is giving me a F-4 error when i turn on the oven

Maytag / MAYCOR / Magic Chef / Jennair / Admiral
Oven Fault Codes
Display Condition Remedy
F0 Function key shorted or stuck button Clean and unstick button or replace Touch Pad or Clock
F1 Defective Touch Pad or Membrane Replace Touch Pad or Membrane
F2 Oven over heat defective Relay Board or (if present) or defective Sensor
F3 Oven Sensor Open Replace Sensor
F4 Shorted wire or Sensor locate short and correct it or replace Sensor
F5 Hardware, safety circuits disagree Replace Clock
F6 Missing AC (power) signal Check for proper voltage (plug, breaker, etc.)
F7 Function key shorted or stuck button Clean and unstick button or replace Touch Pad or Clock
F8 A/D Warning Replace Clock
F9 Door Lock Warning Check door lock circuit or Replace Clock

OK F4 is a Shorted wire or Sensor locate short and correct it or replace Sensor bcd5f2e.jpgGo to the rear of the stove and take the service panel off after disconnecting power. Find the sensor and unplug it. Check for continuity between each terminal and earth/ground/frame. Look for corrosion in the plug. Frigidaire offers a nice video which shows how to check a sensor. Yours is not a Frigidaire but they all work the same. They provide the control with temp data. The oven control (ERC) sends out voltage to the sensor. As temp changes the resistance in the sensor changes. This tells the brain (ERC) temp changes. When the sensor gets shorted or is open (no continuity) then the ERC declares an error and posts it to your control panel. Here is a tip. New sensors sometimes come without the connector. 2 porcelin wire nuts are provided to splice in the new sensor. If you see corrosion on the quick connect. and you cannot clean it but you have continuity to the old sensor and it is not shorted you can bypass the quick connect and make it work in some instances. Just thought I would throw that in.

Im in Vietnam and i have a Sony vaio VGN-CS215j/w but the touch sensor of volum can not use. Pls help me repair it!

The plus (+) and minus (-) volume control buttons on the touch sensor bar above the keyboard may not work properly if the touchpad driver is not installed properly.

The other buttons on the touch sensor bar, such as the play, forward, or rewind buttons, may still work properly.
To resolve the issue, download and install the original Synaptics® Touchpad Driver (or an updated version of that driver, if available) from the Drivers & Software link on this page.

Maytag MER5730ACW Stove.F3 fault code.

hello there
Please go thru this list of the fault codes for this appliance it will tell lyou what to do for the fault or what part needs to be replaced
MAYTAG FAULT CODES

Maytag Range / Stove / Oven Fault Codes Failure Code Fault Code Description Solution F0 Function key stuck Replace touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock, replace the clock (ERC). F1 Defective touch pad or clock (ERC) Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common problem. Refer to F1 test at the top of this page for more information. F2 Oven temperature too hot Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness. F3
or
F4 Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok. F5 Watchdog and hardware conflict Replace clock (ERC). F7 Function key shorted or stuck Replace touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock, replace the clock (ERC). F8 Analog / Digital problem Replace clock (ERC). F9 Door latch Check door latch components. Find Parts clear.gif

GE Range / Stove / Oven Fault Codes Failure Code Fault Code Description Solution F0 Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. F1 Stuck touch pad Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. F2
During
BAKE Control senses oven temperature above 615F-630F If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred: Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature. F2

CLEAN Control senses oven temperature above 915F-930F If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts.

Check door lock switches.

or
F4 Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok. F5 Loss of relay drive circuit If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). F8 Shorted meat probe Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. F9 Lock switch Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. FC Problem with door lock circuit such as pinched wires between control and door lock switches on motorized lock circuits Check wiring and test operation of switches. FD Shorted meat probe Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. Replace probe if all else checks out ok. FF Loss of door motor safety switch Replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). FFF Control error, failed EEPROM Replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).

The main control operates a series of software commands, which control the various features and functions of the oven. Each function or operation has a numerical value assigned to it. The numerical values can be added up - this is called the check sum operation. Every time the system is powered up and after each clean cycle the system performs a check sum and compares the value to the value programmed into the software (stored in memory).

An EEPROM check sum error or FFF code occurs when the values differ. If this happens, replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).Here is a list of error codes and corrective action that should be taken. Mike

F3 & F1 Errors & oven shuts off

Concerning the F3(Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD)

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Concerning the F1(Stuck touch pad)

Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.
