Welcome to FixYa!

Here's a quick checklist to resolve your wireless mouse connection.

Solution 1.
1. If the underside of the mouse has an on/off switch, make sure to set the switch to the "On" position.
2. Make sure that the battery of the wireless mouse is placed correctly and is not drained.
3. After checking the first two steps, the optical lens on the underside of your wireless mouse should be flashing once in a while. If not, there is something wrong with the battery, the wireless mouse switch, or the wireless mouse itself is defective.
4. Connect the USB dongle in the USB port and let it install automatically.

Solution 2.
5. Connect the USB dongle in another USB port and let it install automatically.

Solution 3.
6. Restart the computer with the wireless mouse turned on and the USB dongle inserted in the computer.

Solution 4.
7. Download and install the drivers from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-47909-1

I hope that this will help.
Thank you for using FixYa and keep me posted!

How do i connect my hp wireless mouse to the computer

The first step is to install its driver, after taht you can connect the wireless dongle into a free USB port of your computer, then put the batteries inside the mouse and turn it on, in the most of cases, the wireless dongle and mouse sinchronize automatically, if they don't, there's a small botton in both devices press it in each one to synchronize them manually.

make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you can update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot
in xp

I have a hp wireless optical mobile mouse but i dont know how to connect it to my netbook? I dont have a usb attachment and there is a bit that slides out of the bottom that looks a little like a memory...

To solve this you need to remove the 'memory card' look-alike, and place it into the correct slized slot (which is generally situaed at the side of your HP Netbook.) A light at the bottom of your mouse will go red; to show it's connected. I have got this far, but unfortunately my Netbook is not recognising the mouse, and will not let me set it as my default - which I think is a problem with Windows 7, which is installed on my netbook. Good Luck!! :)

Your mouse should use the standart windows mouse driver. It sounds like you might have a signal conflict. Check which frequency your mouse is using and check for other equipment using the same or similar frequencies. I had a similar problem with my wireless keyboard and mouse it was my wireless network interfering. Once you find out what the interference is you'll need to check your manuals or contact the manufacture to find out if you can change the frequency.

HP Wireless Optical Mouse Fading

Ref wireless mouse. Not sure if you have a solution yet but it seems there could be 2 sources to the problem. First a weak or decaying laser. Second, something you have introduced recently that could interfere with the wireless signal eg mobile phone, another wireless device, cordless phone, telephone wires close to receiver or maybe something else. Not sure what you do if the laser is failing other than clean the lens. You might have to get it checked or try a friends mouse to see if it is better. There s also a setting than can change the sensitivity of the mouse. Have you looked at those settings.
