Lid got damaged and ordered new one from a Husqvarna dealer. While waiting for it to come in, I decided to remove the old lid. When doing do, I noticed the right side metal bracket that attaches to the lid has a dampening function to open the lid slowly. That seems fine. The left side metal bracket was loose and fell inside the case. I opened the case slightly and got the bracket out, but am not sure if something is broken inside. Is that bracket supposed to just rotate freely (loose) on the round plastic piece inside the case? It seems to just slip over the plastic with nothing to hold it on?

I have an old touch and sew and went online to find out how to fix the timing myself. It took a little time and patience, but I did it myself. Saved $135 from going to the repair shop.

Try a Google search for Husqvarna dealers and phone them. It is an inexpensive part and I am sure they would be glad to mail one to you after you have worked out how to pay them. Alternatively, try eBay shops - there are a few Husqvarna spare parts shops that would probably have the part you need, and they accept PayPal.
Testimonial: "Thanks. I finally did find a sewing shop in Albuquerque that used to repair HV's and they had an 'ankle"... (ankle; the name of the piece I broke). "
