un plug ac power. then disconnect all the speakers. plug in ac power and turn on. Still in protect? Could be blown amplifier. Not in protect? one or more of the speakers or speaker wire is shorted
Protect mode means that there is an internal problem and the unit is shut down in order to prevent damage. It needs repair.
