The Playstation 3 is a wonderful video game console, however, with heavy usage, the laser does eventually burn out. The first signs of the laser starting to burn out is that your game will start freezing during game play. Eventually the game will stop reading altogether (even though movies sometimes still work). Eventually movies will stop working and the whole laser will eventually die.

If you are trying to play the movie in the DVD player of yours then check that the format of the movie played is compatible with your DVD. Many a times problem occur due to the wrong format being played. If you are playing the right format then check that the movie contains the whole movie or not, try playing it else where. If it works there then there is a problem with your drive.
Me three, same thing, reads 'no disc' or just won't play it. I have found that it happens more frequently on rental DVD's and that running a cleaner cd through several times helps but eventually that will even stop working. No idea what the problem is
