Deleting songs

when i restored the batteries it said that i had a full memory so i hit delete all songs and it took a while and after it was done I tried to put on more songs and it wouldnt let me , and that I Still had a full memory I tried to restart the whole mp3 but it still has memory and whe i look at my playlist it doesnt have any songs.
