Watt is ODS mode

Somehow I have gotten my Dellicon1.png 1701FP Flat panel monitor into a state where it will not allow me to use any of the control buttons on the front of the monitor. Whenever I press any of the buttons (except power which works fine) the monitor brings up a padlock icon and nothing else happens.

This is not the "OSD Lock" function mentioned in the instructions because if it were I could get out of it by pressing the Menuicon1.png button and then minus. That should bring up the OSD Lock menu page, but it doesn't on my system, either buttons just brings up the Lock icon.

The controls worked fine when I got the monitor and it seems to have gotten into this mode when I had it face down (on a soft cloth) while changing monitor cablesicon1.png. It accidentally powered on and must have had some combination of buttons that caused it to get into this mode.

Any ideas how to get out of this mode so I can adjust it? Anyone know a way to reset the monitor (besides through the menu that I can't access)?

I have a problem in my BPL TV(FHR-21) it showing a green color

How to Fix a TV When the Screen Is Green

A TV is calibrated by the factory to provide a "standard" picture that attempts to appeal to the vast number of buyers who take the set home. To adjust a TV picture that is too green, you must first enter the hidden "service menu" that technicians use. Adjusting the colors to remove the green cast will save you the cost that would otherwise be incurred from a TV technician coming to your home. No special tools are needed, nor any expertise in how the TV works.

Press the power button on the remote of a TV whose picture is too green in order to turn it on.

Press and hold down the "Menu" key until the manufacturer's logo appears on the screen. This could take up to a minute or more. Release the "Menu" key when the logo appears.

Immediately press the "9," "8," "7" and "6" keys in this order. Press the "Enter" button on the remote to enter the "Service Menu" screen.

Press the "Menu" button to go to the second of the two "Service Menu" screens. Press down on the "Down" arrow until you highlight "Color Calibration." Press the "Enter" button to enter the "Color Calibration" screen.

Select one of the color bars on the screen. Adjust the color by changing the values of the color bar by pressing left and right on the "left" and "right" arrows on the remote. Repeat this procedure with the other color bars as well. Stop adjusting the colors when the green cast is no longer present.

Press and hold the "Power" button on the remote to exit the "Service Menu" and save the adjustments you have made. Turn the TV off.

Sony kp-53xbr45 please let me know step by step how to enter in convergence service mode thank you

Hello,

follow the below steps:

To Enter Service mode With the tv off and the remote in tv mode, press the following keys:[DISPLAY],[5],[VOL UP(+)],[POWER]

The tv will now display "3D-COMB" in the upper left hand corner.

Press the [2] or [5] keys to move up or down through the adjustment categories until you see "PJE" in the upper left hand corner(note that the letters will change to a different font).

Next press the [6] key twice, this will bring up a grid (crosshatch) without video behind it. When I refer to the [CENTER] key, It is located in the middle of the directional arrow keys on the remote.

When cursor is white, you can move it to an adjustment point using the arrow keys. Once you press the [CENTER] button, the cursor will lock to that adjustment point. It will now change to one of three colors ; Red, Green, or Blue. The color of the cursor will be the color you are adjusting. To change the color press the [3] key only when the cursor is locked to an adjustment point, pressing the [3] key when you are in navigation mode will have no effect. By Pressing the [CENTER] button again will switch you back to navigation mode.

To save your changes press the [MUTING] then [ENTER] keys on the remote.

Also, your tv may or may not have different convergence modes that you will have to adjust, if your tv is a hi-def you will need to converge the hi-def mode as well, With the cross hatch up you can press the [DISPLAY MODE] key to switch between the different modes. Make sure you save your changes before changing picture mode or your changes will be lost.

style="font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'"> On tv's that have different screen modes, you can try to copy the settings from the full mode once you have saved the setting by pressing [MUTING] then [ENTER] . To do this select the "ALCP" mode then change the data to "01" then press [MUTING] then [ENTER] again. the data from the full mode is then copied to all other modes. This procedure works for the "RA6" chassis, this procedure may be different in different models

Additional Information:

  1. Save changes often.
  2. The green crt is used to align the other two colors. If you need to get the grid straight, straighten up the green completely before adjusting the other colors. An overlay may be needed if the green is way off.
  3. After adjusting a point, you may throw another point out of convergence, Check for this.
  4. Start converging in the center and go out, don't start on the outside you will be fighting the convergence if you do.
  5. Avoid the tendency to adjust the worst point first, most likely one of the other smaller adjustments will get that badly converged point very close to where it needs to be. By adjusting that badly converged point first, you can throw off a well converged point somewhere else.
  6. If you are at the edge of the screen adjusting a point there, look at the opposite edge of the screen, you can throw a point off on the other side if you over adjust.
Good luck.

T.V. won't allow me to adjust color and sound...

Chepe_77,

You are absolutely correct. The reason why you cannot change your audio and video settings are due to the fact that you are in "Dynamic Fixed". Which is one of your many av modes. Av modes are different preset color settings and dynamic fixed is the only one that will lock your settings. Best Buy set it that way so that people could not just come by and alter the settings on the unit. AV modes are on all sharp lcd products and even though you have the wrong remote you should have an av mode button on the remote that came with it. Try pressing the av mode button and see what happens. When you press the av mode button, you will see your av modes change at the bottom of the screen. However, the issue still remains that you have the wrong remote. So there is a chance that you may press the av mode button on the remote that you have, but it still will may not work ONLY because you have the wrong remote. If the remote you have does not work, I GUARANTEE that pressing the av mode button on the proper remote will take care of that. If you dont want to purchase the remote from sharp, www.partstore.com is a good place. Good luck to you

Sony DVD player color adjustment (Model #DVP-N5400D)

Solved the problem!Well, After reading two manuals on the Sony DVD player, I saw one cable not connected: the S Video connection. I connected that. Tried it out again, seemed a little better, but still not the full range of reds. At that point I thought the problem was either: 1) the cables from the DVD player to the TV or 2) the DVD player is the problem So, I thought I'd start with replacing the cables. Labeled them as to where they went, took them out and went to Radio Shack and explained my problem. The clerk I spoke to was very nice, said he had seen this problem before, and said there was a menu on the DVD for adjusting RGB settings.
So, I went back home, plugged in the cable, and went all thru the 2 Sony DVD booklets and the display menu on the TV. There was nothing mentioned re: color settings. Went thru the DVD menu many times, looking, looking. I felt I had come up with nothing.
Turned everything off. Turned back on. Put in a DVD: It looks great! :)
So, hoping it never happens again..cause I'm not sure I can repeat it! Maybe it was removing all the cables from their sockets and restarting...I know that sometimes works with computers...anyway.. At least I didn't have to buy a new DVD! Lesson: unplug, re:plug...before you trash it!
