Refiilled canon PG 40 now won't work. what to do?

If it is still flashing empty cartridge, hold the stop/reset button down for about 10 seconds. this disables the ink levels because they can not be re-set. If it is going through the motions of printing but nothing is coming out then try this:
  1. Simply fill a saucer with approx 2mm of just boiled water
  2. Place the print head in the saucer with the head in the water.
  3. Leave the head in the water for approx 2 - 5 Mins
  4. The Heat will assist in dissolving any blockages and help get the ink flowing
  5. Also by using a syringe and forcing air into the top of the cartridge can help fill the lower chamber of most cartridges, this can overcome the Air-Lock issue some refilled cartridges have.
I hope this helps, if so please rate this response below Thank you for supporting the FixYa Community Regards GM

Dont know where to put the ink?thanks

i find that ink refills give a low quality print, and a4re liable to clog up the print head. You are much better advised to use re-manufactured cartridges. I use www.choicestationery.com for all of my epson ink requirements and don't have any problems with them at all. Hope this helps.

Is my ink cartridge refiilable??

Yes it is, but not adviseable. After you refill the cartridge, it's possible it won't work again if you fill it to full. If you do this, lay down a lot of newpaper, it can get very messy. Have paper towels ready. Most important, stay away from the carpet.

Ink cartridge

Maybe you've already tried this, but here's the instructions from the HP website, with pictures.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00411520&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=445441

It sounds like you removed the plastic object and protective tape, but can't get the cartridge to sanp in place. Be careful not to touch the the corner where the tape had been. Slide the cartridge at a "Slight upward angle" to get the leading bottom edge in.

Hope this helps,
