Question about Emerson TS2587D 25" TV

1 Answer

My Emerson TS1995 television will only bring in channels 1-13. To view my full range of channels, I must go through the VCR. The original remote was lost for a long time, and I thought I would be able to enlighten the TV with it, but I could find no means to convince it that it really can bring in all my cable channels. There must be a way, because it used to be able to do it, but I don't know how. Can anyone help me with this?

Try seting your TV to video mode (INPUT, AUX, AV, etc...) with the channel controls on the TV or the menu.

Enjoy!

I have lost the remote control for my Emerson VCR model EUV 601. Is it possible to buy a replacement?

These folks have a broad range of originals which are not cheap but will give you all the features you had originally;
Remotes
If you want to use a 'universal' remote, you may be disappointed. Before buying one of these, check the mfr.s website with the model number to see if your VCR is included. All features may not be supported in a 'universal' remote since none of them really are or ever can be.

I have a EWC19T3 tv/vcr/dvd combo my ex-boyfriend threw the remote and shattered it. I have a philips/magnavox universal remote but I've tried all the codes listed for emerson (which is a lot) and none of...

Unfortunately, the remote you picked up may be incompatible with your current TV. (I found older universal remotes didn't work with my newest set that had a digital tuner. These were remotes that worked with ~20 year old tvs (analog only). Similarly a new remote might not work with an older TV. Then you get stuck with the result you have.)

Remotes.com has a substitute remote that has all of the functions of the original remote: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=EWC19T3&uuid=12792355576670
This one will work.

Your TV has Select, volume and channel change buttons on the front of the TV. So a tedious way to deal with the problem is to move to the TV to change channels. The Volume controls are under the DVD tray. Select (toggle TV/VCR, DVD, and external input) is the first one on the left under the VCR cassette slot. The channel up/down is to the right of the Select.

I wish that I could be of more help.

(However, you might try the Philips Remote Code Finder: http://www.urc.philips.com/ and select your country and click on the right arrow. Then find your remote model and see if you can get a single number for your TV. On the newer remotes I looked at, it only returned a code of 0917 for All Emerson devices.)

No. sorry My friend, you have to use the original reomote. Theres a display button on this remote under the zero. Its available through http://www.remotes.com as a replacement original. You can also see if anybody you kinow has a emerson TV with a remote,as most will work most sets. If thats not the case see if someone local to you sells emerson TVs or repairs them, and has one you can borrow for you to take off the display.
