I think you need to add some paper to it so that the printer will easily pick them,,,,or arrange the paper onto the tray..

Printer shows jam when there is none, press the check and it prints OK

That type of problem is called a phantom paper jam and is caused by the printer not picking up the paper like it should. When the print job is sent to the printer the pickup rollers turn and should grab the top sheet of paper and feed it into the printer. When the rollers get worn down and slick they can not grab the paper right so you get the error message. When you retry the rollers may be able to grab the paper and the job goes through. To correct this intermittent problem you will need to replace the pickup rollers and separation pads. This is easy to do for the end user no need to send the printer in for service. The rollers won't grab the paper. It may grab toward the end of the print job so that the second half gets printed on the top half of the paper. Or it just won't grab at all.

Dear User,

Your Printer rollers seems to go plane, and they are unable to grab paper properly. You should clean them with a clean piece of paper.
And you can also rub silghtly them with an ambry paper, if needed so that it may grip the paper properly.

Thanks

I cant get the machine to grab the paper and it says its out of paper, yet its not out of paper.

Hi, the Ip3000 has 3 different feeding trays...
make sure that the printer is trying to "grab" the paper in the tray that you have chosen to use in the printer properties box...
when you give the print command can you see the rubber roller moving to grab the paper in the top feeder tray???
if the roller that feeds the printer is not moving you may have accidentally changed the settings to grab paper from the bottom tray...the one right under the door that opens to let printed pages out of the printer...
the 3rd feeder tray is the DVD/CD printing tray...
I suggest that you look at the printer Properties for remedial action...
hope this helps you with your problem...
cheers
haitchhcee
p.s.
suggest you place paper in the bottom tray before making adjustments to see if it is trying to grab the paper from there...

Not grabbing paper

Try cleaning the rollers again and fan the paper. When you clean the rollers, use alcohol and a lint free cloth. Don't put too many sheets in the feed tray.

Dell Laser MPF 1600n WON'T PRINT

Two causes:

1. Worn out roller
<or>
2. Spring-loaded tray not engaging when placed into printer

1. The roller will try to "grab" the paper when the job starts. If it becomes too worn, it will slip and not grab anything. One fix is to apply a small amount of moisture to the u-shaped rubber roller.
Other option is to wrap a rubber band around it if you can.

2. Check to see if tray spring works properly. There is a small white knob on left side of tray. Push paper in tray down all the way until it clicks. Engage knob on side and paper should spring upwards. If this does not happen, the roller will not be able to engage the paper and it will simply click as it tries in vain.
