Question about Toshiba 2060 Copier
When I turn on my toshiba 2060, it makes a loud thumping sound in the paper area and says "cassette not working", and simply does not work. Is there a replacement cassette,or do I need to get a new copier?

CopyWarrior is correct. This is more likely to be the gears in the cassette lift motor are damaged.

Check to see if the tray lift motor is working properly for the tray. I could possibly have a gear stripped causing the tray to not lift properly and making a noise when the gear skips a teeth.
If this is the case the tray would not rise to it's proper position and activate the tray height sensor therefore throwing an error code or message.
The tray motors usually can be accessed from the back of the machine and if you have more than one tray, you can swap them around to troubleshoot the bad one.
