SOURCE: Electric heat

pull cover off unit to expose the coil fins. on right side there may be a switch that turns with a screw driver that switches between heat pump and elec. heat. we use this to stop the heater from dripping water in the winter, for some people

Hi. I have a 24.8 cu ft Bottom Freezer Refrig...over the last 24 hrs it does not seem to be keeping cold. Help!!

Did you set the control to a warmer temperature by accident while cleaning? Check to make sure the temperature control is set to a position that has the cooler turning on. Usually 4-5 will suffice.

Hi,
You have refrigerant leak or the compressor has died...not a thermostat problem...
You will need to get a tech. to take a look at it.

Unit set to heat but outside unit fan won't turn on. Outside temp is below freezing. The weird thing is that you unit is putting out heat and not set to emergency heat

If it is a heatpump, the outside unit should not turn on below 35degrees or so. Below that temperature, the unit cannot effeciently exchange heat. When the outside temperature is low, the system automatically switches over to auxillary heat which uses the same heating elements as emergency heat.

I have a Select Comfort 2000 thermostat. I just replaced new batteries couple days ago. The past week my heat will be working fine all day and/or night then suddenly it will not kick in and the aux light...

Sounds like you have a heatpump. Is that correct? When it gets under 35F or so the heatpump just isn't able to keep up with the heat demand and will require help from a backup source such as electric strip heaters. The way the thermostat works is that the heatpump will work until room temperature gets 2F to 4F below what you have the thermostat set for, the Auxillary heat will kick in to help out. I think I am answering your question, please let me know if I have misread your problem and I'll try to come up with something else.

Du1100xtpq7 dish washer keep repeating wash cycle doesn't go past this just keeps washing

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:
Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next depends, as follows:

On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Instead of the heating element turning on the heat pump runs out side thermostate is not set on eheat

The heatpump is your 1st. stage heat, when you have a call for heat it will bring on the outdoor unit.
When the first stage heat can't heat the house and the indoor temperature drops 2° or 3° then 2nd. stage heat will kick in and maintain the house temperature at about 2° or 3° below the temperature setting.
If you outdoor unit fails or goes into defrost then emergency heat will kick in and keep the house at 2nd stage temperature approximately 2° or 3° below thermostat setting.
If you have an outdoor thermostat or balance point setting on outdoor board, it will shut the outdoor unit off at a certain set outdoor temperature and the 2nd stage heat will be primary heat for the house.

I replaced my Janitrol 7 wire thermostat with an RTH7500 which now controls my heatpump system. The switches on the Janitrol were cool - off - heat - Em Heat. Does that mean I have auxiliary heat? There is...

There should be electric heat strips in the airhandler.

They automatically come on when the unit goes into defrost, the thermostat is turned up more than 7 degrees over the indoor temp or if the outdoor temp is just so cold the HP cannot keep up.

Tat is your auxillary or emergency heat.

What does the new t-stats installers booklet say that the 0170 function and #2 #7 options are for?

If it is for gas vs elec heat then set it on the elec option.

The difference is that in gas heat systems the blower comes on a few min AFTER the furnace fires up to allow the heat exchanger to get hot.
In an electric furnace the blower has to come on emediatly because the heat strips get hot emediatly and if the blower is delayed the system will shut of in high temp overload.
