Press run program.... from there, set the schedule for maximum efficiency. permanent hold only shows up after the hold button has been pressed 2-3 times. If this does not fix the issue, there is a master reset button on the thermostat that will set all settings back to factory default.

Call the honeywell technical service number listed on the instruction sheet for the thermostat.
They can verify if you have the correct stat for your application and the wires are connected to the right terminals.

Heat pump -> installing digital thermostat.

sounds like the thermostat is not energizing the reversing solenoid , unless you have some experience with electrics i recommend that you call a trades person, to check this problem a multi meter is required and requires the user to know how to work with power , please do not attempt it yourself ...

I need to reset the date and year

Hello,

I had exact same problem with RTH7500. Did not set the date properly at the beginning and than realized that there is no menu option to change the date after it is saved once (???!). I was very confused for few hours and wandering - trying to find changing option on thermostat menu; than I was looking online what can be done... I could not find solution...

Than I took out both AA batteries, open the thermostat (be very careful while doing this - you don't want to break plastic peaces that hold the thing together) and took out the button battery thinking that this will reset the thermostat... but it did not.

I repeated the same thing, but this time, while the button battery was out, I put two AA batteries back and this reset the thermostat... the old - blinking date appeared and I was very happy to see this on thermostat screen! This time I set the time properly and it works fine.

:)

Hope this will be helpful if you did not solve the issue yet... if you did, someone else might find this solution useful.

Honeywell Thermostat RTH 7500

Assumed all the wiring are correct,

to change from manual switching from heat to cool, press [system] button ( left ) to go into system setting.

then press and hold the [fan] middle button untill option display 120

use up down button to select option 300 ( Manual/Autochangeover) ,

select 0 for manual, 1 for automatic. ( read caution in page 22 of installation manual )

Good luck
