Question about Washing Machines

NEC NW452 4.5kg washing machine - spin cycle not working

It will not work on the spin cycle: bowl is full of water and will not empty: clicks but doesn't spin. Fine on wash/soak. COuld it be the pump? What does the ''Control'' button do? Could I have pressed that by mistake? Any help appreciated.

Theres 2 things to look for , 1 the LID SWITCH that tells the main module that is OK to SPIN, it could be loose or defective (need a multimeter to check the voltage on switch) 2 the DRAIN PUMP MOTOR , usually it gets stuck with lint and debris, need to open washer ,locate at the bottom on one side where the DRAIN hose is connected, is a small motor , take it out and check inside for clogged stuff , also check drain hose , hope this helps , AJ

Spin cycle isnt not working

Hi there,

The spin cycle is reliant on the drain pump removing water from the tub.

It is a common ocurrance of objects (ie hair pins, pegs, coins etc) to be mistakenly washed through the cycle. Washing machines will often flush these objects down through the drain pump, and get caught in the little propeller of the pump.

So, it is imperative that you inspect the drain pump first and remove any obstruction within the drain pump cavity.

Turn machine power OFF at the wall and remove the power plug.

i) place an empty bucket on the floor
ii) lower the drain HOSE into the bucket - gravity will cause the water to drain into the bucket. Empty the bucket. Perform this procedure until all water has been emptied from the bowl.
iii) move the washing machine out from the wall, to gain access to the drain pump (usually a large screwcap). Place a large towel on the floor, under the screwcap - this will catch any remaining water that escapes.
iv) unscrew the drain pump cap and withdraw the cap. This cap may also contain a filter, so remove any lint/objects from this filter.
v) with the pump cap/filter removed, look inside the pump cavity and remove any visible obstruction from the impellar (little propeller thing). Then, with your finger, turn the little impellar in both directions - if you feel a 'rubber band' like resistance, then the drain pump may be ok at this point.
vi) remove all wet clothes from the machine bowl.
vii) re-assemble the drain pump cap/filter and secure it in place. Install drain hose back into your laundry tub. Plug machine back into power.
viii) fill the bucket with water and pour water back into your machine's bowl. Repeat with a 2nd bucket of water.
ix) manually select and operate SPIN cycle on the machine. Observe if drain pump functions correctly and empties water from the bowl. If yes, then you have resolved the problem.

If your pump has been cleared of all obtstructions but your machine will still not empty water from the bowl, then a full diagnostic will need to be carried out by an authorised service agent to determine which component has failed.

Let me know how you get on.....

Good Luck..

Hotpoint WMA76 - been on a normal wash cycle but wont spin to drain water - cycle finished, drum full of water and cant empty. How do we empty it to open machine?

Remove drain outlet hose from point where it discharges into waste pipe, and lay the hose down into a bucket or bowl, this should let the water syphon out, enabling you to open the door.

Water draining?

It depends on the brand they all set things up differently now. Check with the manufacturers specs to see what is supposed to happen and when.

My NEC NFL855 E3 error

E3 error is discharging water problem. ie 1.the pump not working (under bra wire will stop it spinning) or 2. the discharge hose blocked or most likely 3. the pump inlet hose from the drum is blocked (with small article of cloth or coins or similar).
To Fix:
1. Open the pump filter and check if spinning during empty/spin cycle, make sure nothing jamming or twisted around impellor.
2. Check discharge hose is not crushed or kinked.
3. Lay machine on its side, access pump and remove inlet hose assembly and remove any blockage.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

LG WD-8013F wont spin

Hi deppgirl,
I checked the lint filter at the front bottom left hand side and it was full of junk.  Once emptied it worked a treat.  Pull the flap down and turn the large knob anti-clockwise and pull to remove.  Good luck.

Washing machine

you almost certainly have a blocked filter .Unplug the machine , take the screws out from the back you will see a black hose coming from the tub to the pump, this is the filter if the machine is still full of water get yourself a washing up bowl and lower the grey waste pipe into the bowl and gravity should let the water out, raise the pipe when bowl is full.If no water comes out like that tilt the machine forward and put the bowl under the black hose undo the clip with pliers and slowly take the hose off water will flow when full push hose back up and empty the bowl keep doing this until empty , then remove blockage. Getting someone to hold the machine while you do this will be much easier.
