Question about Zanussi TC7102W Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Clothes not drying...

My Zanussi TC7102W is around 3 years old and has developed a problem and no longer dries clothes. The drum still turns and there is plenty of heat but when I open the door there is a mass of steam and the clothes are very hot and still wet. I have noticed some water appearing around where the water collection container is.

It is taking far too long to dry, this has only recently started? what could be the problem?

Does it get hot? If it does, then the problem is reduced air flow, caused by a lint filter that hasn't been cleaned, masses of fluff in the exhaust pipe (usually on bends), or the external vent not opening properly. Birds can also nest in the vent pipe if the vent isn't protected or is broken.

If it doesn't get hot, you need a new element. Some dryers have two elements if the dryer has a high and low setting. just one element can fail.

The dryer drum moves but no heat. Clothes do not

most of the time it is the heating coil their is a
series of springs the heat up and then the blower
sends air pass them and into the dryer to dry the clothes
you will need to remove the back of the dryer
and get to the heating element and look at it
and see it any of the springs are broken
cost for the part 80.00 maybe
good luck

Hotpont/Zanussi Electric dryer TC7102W no timed heat

it seems thatyour getting no heat on the permanent press and gentle cycles correct? if we know the heater is working that takes care of a number of possible causes turn the power off and remove the rear panel of the dryer. you will see a couple of thermo disks mounted on the heater probably will find tons of lint on these thermostats and what happens is you turn your dryer on low heat or automatic cycle where the dryer will run until it senses the clothes have no more humidity inside the drum every time the thermostat shuts off the heater the dial moves a little closer to the off position. if there is a build up of lint around these sensers the dryer will heat up until the sensers turn the heat off. what happens now is the thermostats are nice and warm as the lint buildup iacts like an insulator preventing the thermostat from calling for more heat so it will take forever to dry a load of clothes. brush the lint off the thermostats and while you are at it vacuum the back of the dryer there should be a lot of lint there

Extremely low drum heat but setting is on HIGH.

Electric (Kenmore - 60931) dryer takes forever (several cycles) lately to dry clothes set on high heat (actual heat in tub feels low though). There are no obstructions in the venting and the 240 volt connection is fine. The timer rotates the dial (timer motor working). Help!!!
