Question about Lexmark X2500 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Printer won't print from the computer.

My printer has been working for years just fine. We turned the power off of the whole computer because of a storm and when we turned it on the next day the printer didn't work. When I check in the control panel and click on printers, it shows that it is Ok with the little green check mark beside it. I can scan and print but it won't print from the computer. I even deleted it and tried to download it again and now it says that it is not supported by Vista. Like I said , I have had the same computer for about 3 yrs now and the printer worked fine.

Power light is on but nothing works

Hello,
The short answer is that most likely the printer driver on the computer is bad. You need to delete the printer but not the drivers. Next, you will need to re-install the printer by having your computer find the printer like the 1st time you initially attached the printer when it was new. Usually this takes care of any communication issues between the pc and the printer. Don't forget to do a test page afterwards!
Good Luck!

My 9500 series Lexmark won't print, computer says its not communication

1. Check your printer to be sure your printer is listed as installed

2. If the print queue is full it can become confused and just hang up so turn off the printer to empty the queue

3. Power up the printer and send one document to print as a test

4. If the printer works, you should be back in business

The ink you replaced costs as much as a new printer that comes with ink. Get a new one.

My lexmark x1240 all-in-one will not print. It saves XPS files and when I go to open them it will not open them. I have already installed the XPS reader. Also, when I try to scan, a box pops up saying...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/lgJCxt. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

Try to scan again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hi.
If you had done utility check and they are fine, had you try printing on a stand alone not using a computer. if you can print on a stand alone, there is no problem on the hardware side of the printer because u were able to print on a stand alone. you can focus now on the software side by uninstalling and re installing the driver of the printer and that should work.

Hp 1200 business inkjet help

I have a solution that is very similar to that printed above.
I have tested it on five installations on the computers on my home network and an HP Business Inkjet 1100, and the PCs running Win XP SP3.
Step 1) If you are setting up the printer from the HP CD, decline the question where it asks if you want to print a test page, (this will avaoid the first print job before re-setting the dates).
Step 2) Reset your clock back to a year prior to the year when your cartidge expired.
Step 3) Print a test page, or two. Or a few pages from any application.
Step 4) Reset your clock back to the current year.
The printer now prints fine. Since I performed the sequence above I have been printing with the "expired" cartridges for a few weeks. I have printed on about 15 occasions over the past few weeks, amounting to about 50 pages. No problems so far. I don't know how long this solution lasts or whether I will have to go through it again.
I have gone through a few different "solutions", including a Registry hack that didn't work, but this simple solution above has worked every time on five different installations.
I did not need to turn the printer on/off, and did not need to re-boot the computers.
However, if I sent a print job to the printer before performing the sequence described above, and the printer gave an "expired cartridges" error, then I would need to turn the printer on/off to clear the error, and flush the print queue.
