Hi, Have you checked the venting to the outside? Is this gas or electric? If it is gas, it could be coils on top the gas valve. I want to help.

Why won't my kenmore dryer 970-c85092-00 heat?

check the heating element to see if the coils are still intact (not burnt or brake). if it is fine, then check the T-STAT and the T-CUTOFF switch. one of those is your problem. if it is the T-STAT or T-CUTOFF, replace them both, they are inexpensive and easy to replace. here is a link to a video that explains this fix thoroughly. i think you will find it helpful.

Kenmore 100.85081400 no heat

check the thermal fuse on the blower housing if its open some units wont heat, also check the heating element if heated electrically,or the ignitor on gas fired units,by the number you provided i believe you meant its a 110.85081400 instead of the 100.85081400 (and is electrically heated) you provided which is produced by whirlpool for sears (kenmore) also there is a control board located inside behind the control panel that may be a culprit, but check the first two things i suggested at the top

My dryer will not produce any heat ? it is only air drying. Is there an element I need to replace or a fuse ?

The Most common problem is a bad thermal fuse.

1 the thermal fuses are located in the cabinet of the dryer under the drum
they can also be located on the front of the blower wheel housing. on the back wall of the dryer or along the heating element can.
2. some kenmore, whirlpool machines have these fuses located in the rear of the machine.especially when the lint filter is located in the top of the dryer.
3. the heating element can also be bad.
4. if you have an ohm meter you can check the continuity of the thermal fuses,as well as the heating element.if there is no continuity on any of the above mentioned parts. Replace the faulty parts

not likely a fuse. check the heating element for a break. the thermal fuse will shut the dryer down completley. could be you need an upgraded thermostat kit for the heater assy.

First, make sure that there is no ventilation issue and that the vent is clean and clear. If the dryer isn't heating, check for a blown thermal fuse or a faulty heating element. Both components can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty component. Both components are located in the rear of the dryer. The thermal fuse is about an inch long and is usually attached to or near the exhaust duct. Remember to disconnect the dryer from the power source before attempting any repair.Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.
