HP LJ 6 Laser Unit Whistles

I have an HP LJ 6 that makes a whistling noise when it cranks up. I have narrowed the problem down to the laser unit. Is there any way to get the laser to quiet down without replacing it?

You could try taking the scanner motor out and lubing the bushing. this might work. I never tried it. Most of the time I just replace the scanner assembly and sometime just the scanner motor if I have a used one laying around.

Error 52.00 on laserjet hp p3005

Hi there! Error 52.00 is laser scanner motor error. There could be two things causing this problem. The first one is the toner cartridge.Look at the toner and try to locate a black plastic on the top of the cartridge. It should be at the top-right and it looks like a leaver. If this plastic is broken the printer will say 52.00.The other thing that can make such an error is the motor itself. To see if the motor of the laser scanner unit is ok , you need to open the printer. If you need any other help please replay!

This error means your laser scanner has failed. This unit contains a spinning mirror and laser. It is used to write the "print" onto the drum in the toner cartridge. Depending on your location this might be an expensive repair. I would estimate it to be around $300 to fix.
The part number for the scanner is RG5-5100 if you want to do some searches. Here is a picture of the unit.

Why is my laser making a whistling noise right at 3500 rpms

Check the tension of your on the belts, check you or anyone has not bent one of the fan blades (cooling issue) Take the belt off the alternator see if you have any movement by trying to move the belt wheel if so then it's new alternator or new bushes. Hope this helps, Malcolm Campbell.

HP LaserJet 3055 not powering on

Possible noisy laser unit or fan. Most likely the laser unit.

You can pull the fuser out by pulling the rear door ALL THE WAY DOWN and remove 2 large screws and pull the rear cover off, then the the left and right small covers, the plastic guide on the bottom and 2 fuser screws. Be careful with the small wires on the right side.

You have to remove all covers to get to fan and laser which is a triangular shaped black box under the top cover.

Freezer whistling noise

I assume the noise is only there when the compressor is running.
This can be caused by the expanding coolant/gas that removes the heat from inside the cabinet passing through a restriction in the coolant tubing.
It may be annoying but unless the unit isn't doing what it should, I don't think this is harmful.

Extra printed page on HP LJ 2100

I would first suggest making sure you have the latest drivers for your laser. Even if you do confirm this I would then reinstall them. If that is no help, it may be a connection issue (bad cable or port causing noise when you print).
