I have a Liftmaster garage door that won't go down unless you press and hold the wall button. The sensor lights are both on. The green light on the unit flashes unless I press the reset button. As soon as you press the wall button it flashes again and the door won't go down unless you hold the button the whole time. The remote wont' make it go down either. It begins to sometimes and retracts, but sometimes the light bulb just flashes (like it is obstructed). I tried replacing the wall switch and that did nothing. Help!

There is a lose wire on my garage door opener. You can see that it is not in place. The garage door works from the door button, though it has to be held down but not from the remote.

If the loose wire is coming from the motor area, it may be the sensor wire that receives the signal from the remote. If it's at the bottom of the garage door near the sensors it may have come off from the sensor. Holding the button to make it go down is a symptom of one of the safety sensors not working. Make sure the lights are green.

Garage door opener wont switch from manual to electric again

I think what you mean is you pulled the rope to open and close the door manually and now you can't get the two halves of the trolley to reconnect.
If so, pull straight down on the rope and release. Then run the door so the two halves of the trolley connect. You may have to do that last step manually. If this isn't your problem post back.

Door will not come down when using the remote. I have to use the main switch in the garage to bring it down and must hold the button until the door is all the way down.

HOLDING DOWN THE WALL BUTTON OVERRIDES THE SAFETY EYES.
WHEN HOLDING IT DOWN MAKES THE DOOR CLOSE PROPERLY THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES.

ARE BOTH LEDS ON? - CHECK FOR A LOOSE OR BROKEN WIRE.
ARE THE EYES WIRED CORRECTLY?
ARE THEY AIMED AT EACH OTHER?

You may have a relay faulty or the wiring is connected wrong.

Genie Directlift garage door opener, wall control problem.

Sounds like a skinned wire on your front or rear limit switches is touching metal. Go over your low voltage wiring and test again.

Liftmaster pro 1/2 hp wont shut in one button press

You have a door sensor problem. Either your main light bulb is burned out or you don't have one in your opener. The clicking sound you hear is the relay for the light. Both of the door sensors should have a small light that is lit. Tweak them until they are.

Garage door won't stay closed

Check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door)

When remote or door switch is pressed the garage door opener only clicks, the motor attempts to move very slightly. starting capacitor is new.
