Question about Sylvania SRT2232S 32" TV
I have a 7 year old Sylvania 32" color - SRT2232S. Recently a black box has appeared on the bottom half of the screen. It disappears for a few seconds after the set is turned off and on but reappears a few minutes later. We have a Wii system plugged into it and it is played a lot. Is it the Wii causing it (I have unplugged it from the set to no avail) or is it the TV acting up and what do you think is causing it?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The problem is in the vertical deflection circuits which is responsible for giving a full picture. Since the set is 8 years old the money would be better spent on a new tv since more frequent break downs in other parts of the set would be more likely due to age.

There is a fuse inside the power supply bard of your sylvania TV. Check whether it has blown out. If bllown out, replace it with same type bothe in size and amperage. If the newly inserted fuse also blow up as soon as you switch on the set, make sure that the power supply section has some short circuit in it, and should be cheked well. OK.
