Question about Whirlpool LSQ8543J

Putting cabnet back to gether on a whirlpool LSQ8543J

I have replaced a solenoid water valve on my Whirlpool washer and now I can not get the cabinet back together. It seems like the bottom of machine should reset on the lower frame but I can not get it to do so. There has to be some trick to it.

I would love to tell you that it worked but I must still be doing something wrong.I let the front lip of the cabinet slip in under the frame and then the rest of the cabinet sits on top of the side frame. Installed the S clips but I still can not move the unit into place without the cabinet sliding off the frame. I just don't get it. I have repaired several older style washer and dryers but never one with this style cabinet. I should have paid greater attention to it when I took it apart. I am screwed. Wife not happy. This is going to cost me.

After several attempts of trying to put this together I quit for the night. I went down this morning and removed cabinet all together. Upon checking the tabs I found that two of them were bent. Most likely from my failed attempts. I bent them straight up and the unit slid together perfectly on the first try. I thank all for the help you supplied.

Open the lid and look down inside. Slip the lip of the cabinet under the base and sit it on the tabs. Gently let the canbinet go to the back being careful not to break the downspout or pinch the water level fill tube. Snap the S clips down and plug in the lid switch. Swing down the controls and screw it back into place so it won't rattle. Grab a beer and chill.

Put the washer where ya want it to sit then ease the cabinet back on there. I know it is a pain in the ****.

To put the cabinet back on, open the cabinet lid, and, looking down through the lid opening, hook
the cabinet front under the washer base while keeping the cabinet tilted
    slightly forward.

Rest your foot at the cabinet bottom to hold it in place,
and tip it back down onto the base. Snap the 2 big cabinet clips back into
place, and look down the back corners to ensure there are no gaps between
the cabinet and back panel where they meet at the bottom. If one side’s
gapped, it means the rear, bottom retainer on that side isn’t hooked. Pop
the clip on that side, tilt forward slightly, and push the side down into
    place. Then reinstall the clip.

Plug the lid switch back in, rotate the console back
down, reinstall its retaining screws, plug the machine back in, and pat yourself on the back!
That's all there is to it!

Code f 20 what does that mean and how can I fix it.

A possible solution to an f 20 fill error for a whirlpool duet washing machine. Blow out the pressure hose that connects to the pressure switch.

Before doing any of these fixes first ask yourself if you have over loaded the machine. Too many Bulky - heavy items will cause this same message.
How to fix Whirlpool Duet F20 Error:
Whirlpool uses a flow meter that detects the flow of water entering the washer. If this flow meter does not detect the correct amount of water entering the washer it will sound the F20 error code. Often this repair can be made with out calling an appliance repairman and without ordering parts. Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket.
If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens. If the water valve screens are clear the inlet valve with the screens itself will need to be replaced. To replace the water valve, remove the top of the washing machine. Three screws hold the top down. The screws that hold the top down are on the back of the top panel. Once removed the top will slide back and off. Now remove the wire harness that connects to the valve. One screw holds the valve to the washers cabinet. Removing the screw and sliding the valve over will release the valve from the back panel enabling you to complete your repair.
One last thing to check is the fill hoses. These front load duet washers call for a lot of water quickly. So if you have stainless steel braided flood-safe hoses, they will trip for no reason at all. Replace these flood safe hoses with more traditional hoses.

When doing a load and selecting Cold/Cold temps, I am only getting HOT water. All the temp settings are only allowing HOT water to flow. I have a Whirlpool GHW9150PW0 model. Anyone know why this is?

The cold part of the water inlet/mixing valve assembly (part #8181694) is not working. Disconnect power to the machine then remove the three screws at the back of the top panel securing it to the cabinet. Once the screws are removed, slide the top panel to the back of the machine then lift it off.

Check the valve solenoids using an ohmmeter. Disconnect a wire from each of the solenoids then measure the resistance between the terminals of each solenoid with the ohmmeter set to X100. The resistance of the solenoids must be almost identical at about 800 ohms.

Check the continuity of the solenoid wiring harness to the central control unit. Make sure the connector at the central control unit is properly seated to ensure good connection. The 4-wire valve solenoid connector is the fourth connector from the left (facing the front of the washer) of the central control unit.

Disconnect the solenoid wires from its terminals if the resistances of the solenoids found above are the same and there's a good connection between the solenoids and the central control unit. Cleaning the terminals will help. Reconnect the solenoid wires in place of the other solenoid wires, and then start a new cycle to check if the temperature of the water coming into the washer changes.

Replace the water inlet/mixing valve if one of the following is observed:
  1. The resistances of the valve solenoids are not the same; one solenoid is open, and the connection between the solenoids and the central control unit is okay.
  2. The water temperature does not change after the hot and cold solenoid wires are interchanged.
Remove the fill hoses then remove the valve assembly mounting screws. Disconnect the valve assembly outlet hose then remove the valve assembly from the cabinet. Connect the outlet hose to the new valve assembly then mount it into position in the cabinet with the mounting screws.

Slide the top panel into position then secure it the three screws to the back of the machine.

Please let us know how this guide helped you or not so that we may know how it worked and how to improve it, if necessary.

How do I replace the water intake valve on my whirlpool top loader.

Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Kenmore, Roper, Estate, after 1985
• The valve will be mounted to the back of the washer with two screws. However, you must remove the valve from inside the washing machine, and this requires you remove the entire washer cabinet, which consists of the top, front and sides.
• Remove the two screws in the lower corners of the control panel.
• Lift the control panel up high enough so it stays up and back.
• Disconnect the wire harness connector.
• Using a flathead screwdriver, snap out the two gold-colored spring clips at the top of the cabinet on the left and right sides.
• The cabinet will now lift up at the back. Pull the cabinet up 10-12 inches and then slide it forward 2 inches.
• Remove the cabinet completely and set it aside.
• The valve will be on the right side of the washer at the back. It’s the device to which the water fill hoses are attached.
• Label the wires from the valve and remove them.
• Remove the water feed tube(s) from the valve.
• Remove the screws holding the valve to the back panel.
• Install the new valve in the reverse order.
• Reinstall the cabinet. (Note: As you follow this procedure, do not force the cabinet in any way. When done properly, the cabinet will go back together very smoothly.) First, tilt the cabinet toward you 10-12 inches while you “walk” the cabinet back onto the lower frame of the washer. (This will be easier if you have the washer lid open so you can see inside the cabinet at the same time.) The front edge of the cabinet slides underneath the base frame, and the sides of the cabinet rest on top of the base frame.
• When the cabinet is resting on the frame squarely, check to be sure the back of the washer is aligned with the cabinet. There are two plastic strips attached to the back of the washer that must line up with the sides of the cabinet as you set the cabinet down.
• Reinstall the two spring clips at the top.
• Reattach the wire harness connector.
• Rotate the control panel back down and reinstall the two screws.
• Flush out the water fill hoses.
• Reattach the water lines.
• Turn on the water.
• Check for and correct any leaks.
• Restore power and test.
Hope this helped you and best wishes.

Cabinet removal is quite simple. You flip the controls upward to expose the Sclips which hold the cabinet. You release the lid switch quick connect and tilt the cabinet forward. Lifting it out of the way. Then you can easily replace the water inlet valve.
