Hi My name is Vortash I have just seen the picture on the website link you posted and I beleive those settings are RGB and picture .. Brightness, contrast , and Hue depending on which tube you have installed .. the VGA setting is for the RGB setting to the scart .. I have tried to find how to save but to no avail and I have never actually worked on one of these sets before , to that end I thought it might be advantageous to you if you had a user manual didn't know if you actually had one but thought it couldnt hurt so have sent you one to your email you will need adobe to read it it is in PDF format .. I also located a Service manual that should tell you all you need to know it is available from manual zone a download at $15.. normally these manuals cost 3 times that so this is a bargain .. hope this helps regards Vortash

Sony has a one (1) year limited warranty on this unit. You will need a purchase receipt or bill of sale. To obtain warraty service call 800-222-7669. Sony knows about this problem don't let them off the hook make them stand behind what they sell. Give them the info you posted "The picture is ghoasting pictue leaves a slowmotion effect". very good description good job! and good luck!

If you have ordered the digital PCB give it a try. I'm only trying to work with the information you give and I think it's the panel.

Like most new sony's there is nothing you can do in the service menu other than do a reset....if you really have to see for yourself  press the following buttons in order
left,right,mute,center button,mute,menu
good luck

The best advice is to not screw around in the service menu and simply
deal with the aggressive reds by turning the COLOR control down
slightly. Or, hire someone with the equipment and knowledge to properly
    calibrate your TV.

Either the TCON board or the panel is bad. Sony supplies the two parts as a unit so you will have to have them replaced together. Hope it is under warranty because it is expensive ....
Lets see.

Good luck.

Hi, first try a 'hard reset' unplug your tv for 30 mins and try again this will 'reset' all the settings like the service menu settings.

If this does not work then you probably have a bad main digital video board. I would not suggest a person with prior electronics experience to perform this repair as the set holds extremely high voltages for hours after being turned off.
If you want to try it yourself, you can get the replacement part here
http://www.discount-merchant.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1016710-SONY&Click=17845
A service manual would come in handy when you are working on something like this. You may want to try searching for one before starting this repair.

My Sony KDL-32M3000 flashes on and off for Maybe 1 second each time and the entire screen will occasionally flash to multiple color snow. Can this worth repairing?

The cost of the repair would be quite close to a purchase of a new same size TV. It is safe to use unless you start to hear crackling noises which indicates short circuiting

My Sony KDL-32M3000 has ghost (dark red) display with slow motion picture. What could be the cause and how can it be repaired. Thanks

Thats usually caused by bad flex tab bonds on the LCD panel itself. If you search for flex tab issues vidoes it will show how the pisture can get slow motion in areass as well as double images in that area.

Tv comes on then picture goes out but still has sound but no picture

Sounds like a back light failure. To verify this, turn on the set, dim the lights in room. Shine a bright flash light on the screen, if you see a faint picture on the screen, you have a back light failure. You either have a blown back lamp, 24v circuit fault, or a failed inverter board.

0ne of 3 has failed:
(in order of probability):

1. Backlight inverter
2. Power Supply
3. Backlight

Please seek the expertise of an experienced TV repair technician - as they contain potentially lethal voltages that must be properly discharged before work can begin.

My Sony KDL-32M3000 has dark reddish picture, checked the ribbons around the frame they're ok, power supply is ok, Hi voltage board is ok, I'm guessing the main video processing board since I don't have a...

It will be either BM board (Video Processor board) or Tcon Board (top side of panel). I have similar problem...my TV turns on, lamps turns on (you can see them from back side panel holes) but just a dark blue picture appears with no image (like picture when external input is selected without signal), no OSD appears....some times I can heard audio (using Antena).
I'm thinking getting the BM board.

@circuitworld: You claim in your profile that you repair plasma and LCD TV's, but you just told someone with an LCD to replace the convergence IC's and linear buffers. First off, convergence IC's are in rear projection TV's not LCD's, and the buffer boards are in plasma's, again, not in LCD's

@gardenwc: Typically what you are experiencing is a bad video controller or an actual faulty panel, the latter of which is not cost effective to replace.
