Question about Garden
I was trimming grass with my Ryobi 2-cycle gas trimmer. The cutting attachment hit an exposed tree root. I heard a clunk. Its drive mechanism is obviously no longer connected to the drive shaft. The engine won't start. The cutting line freely rotates, and the starter engine cord as no resistance. There must be a shear pin on the shaft, but there is no instruction on what to do in the owners manual. How do I fix this?
Hi, I have a Ryobi brush cutter and the engine has a tendency to move up and down the shaft. It also rotates around the shaft

Somewhere there is a shear pin that attaches the cutter head to the drive line, when you hit the tree you sheared off the pin (safety devise) . You need to locate it and replace it, be sure you use a manfactureres shear pin. Thn again there might not be a shear pi in that case you have probably ruined your trimmer. The best way to find out is to call your ryobi dealer tell him you have a Ryobi model so and so and ask if this model has a shear pin.
