Question about Panasonic PT-51G44 51" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Circuit board I recently acquired a PT-51G44 from my parents. It was in great shape until my old roommate got pissed off because he couldn't get one of the cables loose on the back and somehow or another cracked the circuit board on the right side (if you are looking in at it from the rear) fighting with it. This is where the RCAs and cable plug into the TV and then connect to the circuit board inside. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement board with all the parts already on it?

You have to call RCA directy to find a parts rep for your area. Depending on the board, and the where the break is, sometimes a very skilled tech can repair the board. If there are surface mount components on the broken part of the board, then most likely it is not serviceable.

When calling for the price of the board, you will need to have the part numbers for the board, and the model and serial number of the set.

Sometimes, there are EPROM's involved with these boards. They have to be programmed and set up for the particular set, because of necessary calibrations. There are some adjustments that are unique to the particular set. For this, you will need to have this done by an RCA authorized service tech.
