My washer is not cycling by itself-it stays on wash for hours?

My washer is not changing cycles. It stays on wash, etc for hours. If I change the cycle myself, it will work. What is wrong?

I had the same issue and i found that it was the lid lock switch. if this is broke it will not switch cycles; i tested mine by pushing down while the cycle was running you will hear a click sound that the lock is in place and the machine will run properly. i also found the switch is only around 40$ instead of the 200 for the timer. good luck.

It sounds like a control problem. I assume it is electronic, and if so try another control board but be sure you can return it if it does not solve your problem.

Fisher washer stays on clen for over 3 hours

"Fisher washer stays on clen for over 3 hours" ???
I think you mean the "Dishwasher stays in the clean cycle for over 3 hours", right? First question is "What cycle?" If it's the Pots and Pans cycle, or "Pro-wash cycle" , or "Normal cycle with extra wash heat or sani-rinse options selected, then yes, this is normal! A Normal cycle (without added heat) will take about 2 hours. And a short or quick or 1-hour cycle will take less.
