Question about Amana ABB1921DE Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
We had this problem before, turning down fridge to 4 helped for awhile but now fridge is warm again. Freezer is OK. I saw one solution say check/replace evaporator fan motor. There is no air coming out of the slots in the rear bottom of the fridge compartment. The copper coil is clean and the vent in the back is clear of lint.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. God bless ,tom

There are a few things that it could be. Do you mean the evaparator coil? This would be the coil on the inside of the freezer, the condenser is outside the unit. If the evap. coil is freezing, you could have to much in your freezer blocking air flow. You could also have a evap. fan not running. Check the owner's manual for the location of the defrost timer, it could be bad. The thermostat needs to be checked and set so that it is at a reasonable level. One last thing to check would be the condensate drain. Make sure the drain is not plugged or the line is not plugged. Good luck.
