Question about HP Compaq FS 7550 17" CRT Monitor
I have a compaq 7550 17" monitor that when you first turn it on is okay, after running awhile the white turns yellow. I tried shaking the monitor and hitting the sides to see if there is a intermittent connection, but it doesn't clear up when you hit or shake the monitor. After awhile it clears up until it appears again, this could be hours, days whenever. Any suggestions?
I think you need to clean your monitor inside of it, dust can conduct heat making the screen material active and creating the yellowish tint to the screen.
I don't think it's a connection problem, becuse it if was you would not see nothing on the screen at all but only one connection error message or like 3 colors.
so you have to open it and clean it I usally use a hair dryer to clean inside stuff or a paint brush.
try cleaning it, but if you have special screws that you have to take out from the monitor you then have to buy special tools for those screws.
I had the same problem right now with my monitor, it's 7 years old, and decided to get a dell flat screen 22 inch.
but that's what I think is your problem, it's either dusty or oxidized meaning different oils are layered inside on the circuit boards. which are like insulators

Try moving the cable that goes into your graphics card i had a connection problem with mine, i either moved my tower or the cable to correct the problem
