Question about LG RH1999H DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder
I try to record a program (from cables) to HDD on my DVR RH1999HS and get the following message: Record-blocking signals are detected. Is there any way to get around? Thanks Mark
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The program is protected from copying. It is possible a synch restoral box such as the Optex Video Stabilizer could help in series with the video IN (composite video only) Mine is model # VO760, an old one.

Use 2 scart leads from av1 and av2 of the dvd via a spliter .
With the out put from spliter pluged into tv.
(DVR 1600 output is 1/2 of a scart socket and the input is
the other 1/2).
ps:- no auto switching on o/p or i/p!

I have the same problem with the same model LG, bought a year ago. It only gives the 'Record-blocking signals detected' message when there's something I really want to record. Over the winter it was Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. Today it is the British Open Golf from Turnberry. We are out tomorrow, for the last day of play and can't record!!!!! It seems this player has build in blocking signals even to channels we can normally watch. Any help would be appreciated - before tomorrow, July 19th.

I have the same problem currently. I have successfully recorded to the Sony CM5 in the past from my DVR, but no longer can. I have Comcast and wonder if they have changed the DVR firmware and blocked output. Also some broadcasts have something in the signal to stop recording. I got half of my program done, and can't record the rest on DVD. I will try to DVR local news, then record to the Sony, to see if it's a signal issue or something with the Sony. I haven't tried to record from a VCR.
