Kenmore Heavy Duty 60 series. Started drying a load and later found it had stopped. When I push the button nothing happens but I hear a single faint beep.

hi thanks for the question the belt has probably broken there should be a bottom panel use screw driver to pry the front on each side pry outwards remove panel now you should see a broken belt replace thanks the appliance dod

SOURCE: Dryer wont start.

can you hear the motor or does the unit humm or vibrate when it is turned on
if yes then have a look at the belt
if not it's time sor a service call

the drum belt may be broken. you will have to check this, it goes around the drum and the pulley on the motor. you could also have a bad motor.

Yours is a 2 speed motor. Does it spin in 2 different speeds. If so, then it most likely is designed with only to agitate in 1 speed. If it only spins in one speed, then your motor is defective

My cloths washer wont drain or spin. Its a Kenmore Heavy Duty 60 series.

May be the lid switch. Canyou hear the switch click when you close the lid? It will be just before the lid is all the way down.

Kenmore 90 plus series: heavy duty super capacity won't agitate

this is the site to find out how to fix your washer.
you have a broken drive coupling.
it probably wont agitate or spin, but will fill and drain.
you need to remove 2 screws from the control panel, hinge it back and then remove the 2 brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the base. once you do then pull the entire cabinet forwards to a 45 degree angle and pull it off the base.
then pull the 2 clips off pump and then 2 more on the motor. that will allow you to get to the drive coupling. you will find it to be broken.
replace it with part number 285753a for about 15-20 bucks.
